I think I've said this but I really do worry (assuming a Biden win, etc) that one of the first foreign policy challenges faced by a new administration will be an Iranian-sponsored assassination attempt against Trump

I think I had just watched a Ceaucescu doc around the time of the 2016 election and I remember thinking that he might be a good analog for Trump.

Biden should appoint Trump ambassador to Somalia or something. You know, in the spirit of reconciliation.

Iran has behaved a lot more rationally than the US in the last 4 years, seems very bizarre that they’d try something that brazen, esp if they think they could get some sanctions lifted through Biden.

Trump withdrew from the P5+1 JCPOA and then authorized the assassination of Qasem Soleimani. Trump’s done everything he can to inspire hatred from the Iranian government. It might be worth their time to remind the USA that an ex-President is just as vulnerable as one of their most senior military officers.
