It’s been not just bad but dangerous from the start to have an such an unhinged, dishonest, malevolent person in the white house. Amazing more people haven’t been killed.

i think the only reason more people haven't been killed is because of the incompetence.

honestly the morning after election day that was my main thought - "how is this going to work? is an entire political party, 63 million people, and everyone in charge of our government & military just going to pretend this guy isn't a lunatic with the intelligence and temperament of a 1st grader?"

also the right-wing extremists, while armed to the teeth, have sort of been gutted by a lack of structure / experience with on-the-ground strategy. these people have no skills at all. it's all symbolic. (outside of police departments of course)

Frothing at the mouth demanding his past political opponents be arrested for vague reasons, ramblings of conspiracy. It’s so far beyond being OK it’s still unbelievable.

sadly, this is maybe the one time where if he pulled a mea culpa and said that he's been acting crazy since just before the debate, a lot of people would probably say "ok" and move on. for once he's got sort of an excuse for his behavior, but he's painted himself into such a corner that it's an impossible option for him to take

like it just still blows my mind that the US Government has wasted tens of millions of dollars on shit like building a wall between us and Mexico & forming a "voter fraud commission" solely because the dumbest man to ever hold elected office said something that made people clap, once. imagine all the good things we could have done!! imagine if we had President Jeb!

I think pointing out that the substance of his tweets is materially unchanged from years of nonsensical pontificating and the main difference is he's now sick and might drop over dead at any moment is 100% reasonable.

Like, the past few days of this thread have featured people posting him tweeting something completely in character and saying "oh my god, look how gone he is from this virus"
