Massively more likely that this is exactly the same as pretty much every other case. The pattern is clear and documented: it goes “symptoms - oh not that bad - fuck”. There were stories even back in March about how cruel it was because on day 7 they thought even the really serious cases had turned a corner, patients were eating and talking again, families all got relieved and then day 10 some of the patients crash again.

Viral load could well be a factor - seems to be one of the big reasons it’s not nearly as fatal now as it was in March, but the remitting/relapsing pattern is still holding afaict. If he was genuinely bad enough to be in hospital then there’s no way you can declare him better at this early stage. It doesn’t sneak back into asymptomatic mode. Xp
