A few years ago I had a herniated disc in my neck and got a steroid injection about 10am. As the day wore on I felt a tremendous rush of energy and by 6pm after one beer I just about thought I could fly. I got about 2 hours of sleep that night because I could not relax even one bit.

Is it just me or are we slowly but surely slipping back into the usual hellscape timeline?
If Trump's got even a moderate case of COVID-19 (and if it wasn't serious he wouldn't have stopped tweeting), his campaigning is finished. Early voting numbers are insanely high as well... the GOP has very little time to turn things around. Headlines like "Secret Service Agents Denounce Trump's Parade" is not that.

Hereās some KIP from that piece
Mr. Trumpās camera-friendly, morale-boosting āsurprise visit,ā however, may have masked the reality of his condition, and his seeming energy may have reflected the fact that he was given the steroid dexamethasone, according to medical experts. Dexamethasone has been shown to help patients who are severely ill with Covid-19, but it is typically not used in mild or moderate cases of the disease.

It does seem like the President is singlehandedly trying to rush himself out of the hospital and will probably get his wish only to have to be rushed back later this week

A notoriously corrupt Romanian mayor who died of Covid recently got re-elected postmortem. I keep thinking about him and his ghost.

Trumpās tweet habit had been mostly quiet since he got coronavirus, with just retweets and thanks to well-wishers. Today, @realDonaldTrump is on a spree, on guns, stock market, military taxes, voting.Reason: @Scavino45 tested negative and is now up at Walter Reed with him. pic.twitter.com/H0n23Z5kkM— Jennifer Jacobs (@JenniferJJacobs) October 5, 2020

I think of the times when I've had a nasty flu and decided a week later that I was OK and ready to resume normal life, only to have my triumphant return to social life end around 7:30pm after experiencing a hard fadeout, and someone having to drive me home from the restaurant, arrange me on the couch, and turn the TV on for me as I insist I'm fine and then pass out.
― avellano medio inglĆ©s (f. hazel), Monday, 5 October 2020 14:21 (five years ago)
so scavino45 is giving himself another chance to get it? why are these people so dumb

same, f. hazel. last time i got the flu i decided to go to work too soon and was getting out of breath walking around. and i'm not an obese 74 year old. i'm heartened the thought that by engaging in too much activity he's just making himself sicker.

― lagān, Monday, 5 October 2020 14:27 (five years ago)
which is not to say he wont discharge himself lol
sad lol but Trump is like the inverse of that Janet song. Prejudice, yes! Ignorance, yes! Bigotry, yes!

― kinder, Monday, 5 October 2020 14:50 (five years ago)
Looking forward to the week or so he'll spend crashing off dexamethasone (if his case is truly moderate). If his hypomania on it is any indication, he'll be due for some depression and suicidal ideation. Fingers crossed, at any rate.

Not sure if anyone feels the same but this whole situation is so charged with extreme wishful thinking from both sides of the spectrum that I really feel averse to speculating based on any degree of hearsay flying around from any source.

I think it's safe to assume -- at the very least -- it's somewhat worse than the administration is trying to portray, just given their inability not to lie about absolutely fucking everything
but that range could be mildly worse to drastically worse and who knows?
