BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 6 October 2008 05:20 (seventeen years ago)

Which part is yuk? Or is it a combination of the two?

Super Cub, Monday, 6 October 2008 05:47 (seventeen years ago)

i think it's

a) i bought pumpkin ale because it is october, having forgotten that i hate pumpkin ale
b) i bought the TV on the Radio album because it came out, having forgotten that the last album bored me

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 6 October 2008 05:50 (seventeen years ago)

Pumpkin ale rules. We have a brewery here in Seattle that makes about ten different varieties of it.

Giggle Blast (Bimble Is Still More Goth Than You), Monday, 6 October 2008 06:02 (seventeen years ago)

Pumpkin rules! That is a fine tasting gourd. Under used and under appreciated in many culinary traditions.

Super Cub, Monday, 6 October 2008 06:05 (seventeen years ago)

Pumpkin Pie is the greatest of all possible pies I just need annual reminding that I'm not really all bout the pumpkin ale.

BIG HOOS aka the steendriver, Monday, 6 October 2008 06:13 (seventeen years ago)

That is a fine tasting gourd.

when i read that i imagined you forming an appreciative pumpkin shape with your hands like men in old movies who draw hourglass figures in the air then whistle through their teeth.

estela, Monday, 6 October 2008 06:22 (seventeen years ago)

Wow, Emily, besides the cool shades your whole outfit in that pic awesome!

Tuomas, Monday, 6 October 2008 06:26 (seventeen years ago)

Where is that pic from, Maria? Are you doing some volunteer work?

PUMPKIN ALE!!! PUMPKIN ALE IS ROCKING MY WORLD RIGHT NOW!!!!

And I want to put caek's photo up on my wall of Cute Physicists along with Brian Cox and young Carl Sagan.

I am too ugly to have my picture taken at the moment and my hair has gone wrong (tried to put in highlights and turned it orange again), but here is a picture of WHAT MY SHOES LOOK LIKE (taken for another messageboard, but ILX can have sloppy seconds):

That pic looks like one people use in order to prove the existence of ghosts. Maybe you have supernatural drums.

Fr. Jemima Racktouey (ENBB), Monday, 6 October 2008 17:05 (seventeen years ago)

I've had good pumpkin ales (I think Dogfish Head makes a good one, IIRC), and I've had awful ones (Blue Moon).

jaymc, Monday, 6 October 2008 17:06 (seventeen years ago)

I think that I've liked everything I've tried by Dogfish Head.

Fr. Jemima Racktouey (ENBB), Monday, 6 October 2008 17:07 (seventeen years ago)

My favourite so far is Pumpking (I think that's Wychwood?) but Badger has just put out a pumkin ale which I'm going to drink tonight. Possibly with pumpkin soup, but that might be overkill.

Yeah, it's good stuff. Also, I think I've been way fucked up by everything I've tried by Dogfish Head.

Herb Hitts, Bad Vibe magazine (kenan), Monday, 6 October 2008 17:11 (seventeen years ago)

YES to Pumpkin Ale!

Tuomas, my photo is in Iceland, I was on a dig there.

Maria, Tuesday, 7 October 2008 03:56 (seventeen years ago)

Hey Maria I just saw the haircut comment so thanks! Dennis my ex-junkie jazz playing hairdresser is awesome and I <3 him.

Iceland must have been Amazing.

Also you pumkin ale haters are CRAZY - it's delicious!

Zangelbert Bingledack (ENBB), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 03:58 (seventeen years ago)

don't drink the dogfish head with the raisins that is some straight bullshit. i drank a pumpkin ale this week and it sucked. i don't want my beer to taste like pie. i, like BIG HOOS, keep forgetting this.

ian, Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:26 (seventeen years ago)

Raisins? I don't know if I've had that one. Beer is good and pie is good so piebeer is A-OK in my book but I can see how it's not for everyone.

Zangelbert Bingledack (ENBB), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:27 (seventeen years ago)

"You hate pie" should be the new "you hate fun."

Pie-hater.

Herb Hitts, Bad Vibe magazine (kenan), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:28 (seventeen years ago)

I want my beer to taste like pie, I want my food to taste like pie, I want my kisses to taste like pie, I want my world to taste like pie. If possible. Please.

Herb Hitts, Bad Vibe magazine (kenan), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:30 (seventeen years ago)

I would like everything to taste like pumpkin.

Maria, Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:31 (seventeen years ago)

^ This is why this is my favorite time of the year.

Herb Hitts, Bad Vibe magazine (kenan), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:35 (seventeen years ago)

i have a pumpkin pie and similarly flavored products aversion.

highly theoretical, of course. (tehresa), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 04:38 (seventeen years ago)

good job, kenan!

ILX Systern (ken c), Tuesday, 7 October 2008 10:02 (seventeen years ago)

Last night I had pumpkin soup while drinking pumpkin ale (the Badger is nice, but not as good as PUMPKING which is king of pumpkin ale) - I wish you could get pumkpin pie in this country, as I would have finished off the meal with it.

I should make a pumpkin curry soon. I'd eat all the pumpkins in the world if I could fit them in my mouth.
