Him being a shithead liar who notoriously stages and makes up shit all the time means no one will take any pronouncements at face value. In this case, seems like the pictures were possibly taken close together, with a slight set and costume change, and possibly some photoshopping, like the addition of a folder. Even if everything were legit, if he was feeling okay you'd think they'd do a slightly better job then this weak Weekend at Bernie's shit.

It does feel like ppl are straining to find anomalies in what little info we have—which is esp. strange when you take into consideration that almost everything about this person is already anomalous.

It was staged to make it look like he’s been working all day as opposed to lying in bed recovering. Look at all the work he is doing, he even goes to a different room for some of his work- here he is signing important documents. Then he’s up and about, and goes to his folder-leafing table and here he is leafing through important folders. He’s been working so hard, he even took off his jacket so he could leaf more effectively through the folders. When the reality is that it took him 10 minutes to sign his name with a sharpie on a blank paper, get up, struggle out of his jacket, and shuffle to another room to sit down again for another photo. Then presumably it’s back to bed for the rest of the day like a normal sick person who doesn’t have to put on a pretend show.

The lack of both clarification and cries of "fake news" from the White House, each beneficial to Trump if true and/or if he is doing OK, is potentially telling. Keep in mind, iirc even pneumonia was at one point and may still be considered a "mild" symptom. "Mild" in the sense that there is proven treatment and a lower likelihood of hospitalization or death. But even pneumonia is dangerous for someone of his age and size.

he always uses a sharpie to sign his name. and always has. i saw a signed photo of him from the 90s once--in the office of a funeral home director--and it was the same.

sharpies are the default celeb signature pens these days afaict.

that's why it's telling that he uses one to sign bills and things. for him, it's always an autograph. he is a show business guy above all.

last year i got a-rod’s autograph on a baseball amid a sea of kids, all with sharpies, and when i handed him a ballpoint along with my baseball he did a little double-take and gave me a split second look of look of disappointment

It's not about straining to find anomalies, it's about acknowledging that these photos were clearly staged to project a certain narrative which, when combined with the administration's propensity for falsehood, strongly suggests that he's not doing as well as they want us to think. If he WERE doing well, it would be super easy to demonstrate that and they'd be jumping through every possible hoop to do so. Like he'd be filling his idle hours with calls to every Fox News program, just as one example.

The guy is nothing but reactionary ego. Being hospitalized is basically his worst nightmare come true, because it not only makes him look weak but proves he is literally weak. And all while he's lying there people are either speculating or talking shit, essentially kicking him when he is down, and he has always been about kicking back. The fact that he's not either means he's doing poorly and can't or for the first time in his entire life someone is able to keep him under control.

Seriously, imagine being that turd, lying in bed, flipping through the TV channels and listening to what people are saying and saying nothing in return.

fwiw I think I saw someone post that there was a brief lockdown at the hospital last night. Hypothesis being they had to move him to another room for another test. Time was after 9pm, you're not taking someone for a test then unless you need to.

So Dr. Feelgood concedes that Trump was given supplemental oxygen a couple of days ago, but didn't want to say that for fear of sounding negative. And then admitted they have administered supplemental oxygen at least a second time, plus a dose of steroids.

I think that's already old news. The doc, if I saw correctly, just now conceded he didn't quite tell the truth the first time and then admitted oxygen was given a second time.
