i assumed tacos would win, but i at least hoped for a good fight from the dogz. especially with tomorrow being you know, the fourth and not cinco de mayo.

carpathian florist (roxymuzak), Friday, 3 July 2009 23:50 (sixteen years ago)

Tacos win only because they vary so much....so they mean so much to so many varied people.

dice in my pockets (csa), Friday, 3 July 2009 23:56 (sixteen years ago)

I was thinking it was a surprisingly small number of votes for such a popular thread!

iatee, Saturday, 4 July 2009 00:03 (sixteen years ago)

81-26 tacos is surprising. I was expecting more like 78-29 tacos. In any event GO USA~

Good morning. In less than an hour, aircraft from here will join others from around the world. And you will be launching the largest aerial battle in this history of mankind.

Mankind -- that word should have new meaning for all of us today.

We can't be consumed by our petty differences anymore.

We will be united in our common interests.

Perhaps its fate that today is the 4th of July, and you will once again be fighting for our freedom, not from tyranny, oppression, or persecution -- but from annihilation.

We're fighting for our right to live, to exist.

And should we win the day, the 4th of July will no longer be known as an American holiday, but as the day when the world declared in one voice:

"We will not go quietly into the night!

We will not vanish without a fight!

We're going to live on!

We're going to survive!"

Today, we celebrate our Independence Day!

carpathian florist (roxymuzak), Saturday, 4 July 2009 00:14 (sixteen years ago)

the lopsided nature of the poll reflects the clear superiority of tacos

velko, Saturday, 4 July 2009 02:33 (sixteen years ago)

Think of it: how many wars today could be prevented if we could wipe
everyone's memory of history? -- of, say, knowledge of what happened
more than 50 years ago.

guitar hero sparklehorse (nickalicious), Saturday, 4 July 2009 05:52 (sixteen years ago)

i think the reasoning at the time is i eat more dogs in one sitting than tacos

guitar hero sparklehorse (nickalicious), Saturday, 4 July 2009 05:54 (sixteen years ago)

In Japan, hotdogs are used in bento boxes and are often sliced to resemble an octopus.

Dr. Johnson (askance johnson), Saturday, 4 July 2009 18:29 (sixteen years ago)

In Tuvalu, Hot Dogs are served traditionally on Bournivalian Holidays. They consist on a little wheat bun, a lamb (or goat) sausage and purple coleslaw. They are cooked during a ceremony where the priest, or even the Majestic Goddess, blesses them.

Dr. Johnson (askance johnson), Saturday, 4 July 2009 18:29 (sixteen years ago)

Reigning champ Joey Chestnut beat out six-time titleholder Takeru Kobayashi in Coney Island's annual hot-dog eating contest. He ate 68 hot dogs in 10 minutes.

i had tacos for lunch! 1 chicken w/ pipian mole, 1 calabacita. latter was disappointing; wish i'd ordered two of the chicken/mole.

yum! that looks great.

i made tacos last week on my family vacation. we did blue corn hard shells and white corn soft. used refried beans for main filling, lettuce, corn, rice, + a chipotle lime hot sauce that turned out pretty good

mark cl, Tuesday, 14 July 2009 16:27 (sixteen years ago)

Had tacos for lunch yesterday from here, and they do this thing where they put a corn tortilla on the grill, and stick another corn tortilla to the first one USING CHEESE, and then put all the taco stuffins, including more cheese, on top and I was almost bouncing up and down I was so happy to see this happening in front of me.
