An idiotic talking point I see a lot from right-wingers on social media is that if Biden wins, "The virus will magically disappear after Election Day." But it occurs to me that what will actually happen is that the entire right-wing anti-mask hoax-hoax-hoax contingent will suddenly discover that we are in the midst of a terrible pandemic and the federal leadership is appalling.

Which honestly would be a big relief here in these red states.

My sister just threw that at me about 30 minutes ago, apparently both the election and Covid are hoaxes, so I said ‘if the election’s a hoax, why are you even voting, and if Covid is a hoax then how come you say you’ve had it? MAKE IT MAKE SENSE PLEASE.

I keep having people say the hospitals are lying about the deaths being covid so they get paid better. Knowing how records work in a hospital, I go into explaining how difficult it would be to pull that off with out it being known, as so many different people have to sign off on and check things which are reviewed at many different intervals then the penalties for it being wrong. Then the fact that anyone with any grievance can blow a whistle at any time. Just by odds, it's not likely.

I got another friend that is a koolaid drinker on the vapor trails, which is so gd stupid. I get into how much infrastructure and special equipment it would take from truck drivers to special planes etc. And he will agree to what I am saying and then just go on being a dumbass. :\

I know the old yard signs thing is a fool's game for measuring much of anything, but I do have to admit to feeling slightly comforted by seeing more Biden signs than Trump signs when driving through Bay City, Michigan last week. I was taken aback. Four years ago, it was a veritable sea of Trump signs. There are still a number of Trump signs (those that had one MAGA sign usually had at least 5), but Biden seems to have the edge.

the obnoxious thing about Rogan is that when I sat down for lunch with some of my work friends (back when I went to work) one of 'em would say something like "you know I just think it's unfair that trans athletes can compete in the Olympics" and I'd immediately know that's what they were talking about on Rogan last week
