Anyway, only one ILX poster has the legitimacy required to weigh in on this.

i knew my minor in burrito studies would come in handy some day!
yes, i took one look at that crappy post, and decided to fix it by changing "burritos" to "burrito studies"
inside the ilx poster's studio
the amended version has the greater wit, but it suffers from poor placement

I do not understand the appeal of burritos.0 per month.― oops (Oops), Monday, 11 July 2005 18:28 (fifteen years ago) link
One of the wrongest posts ever. One of nature's most perfect food groupings. Between breakfast burritos, quick lunches with beans and cheese in the microwave, and full on dinner ones with all the fixin's, I'm probably at 5-6 per week. Or more.
That said, the California burrito really does not look good to me.

it’s called a California burrito? Huh.
can I get fried clams in a burrito
― brimstead, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:11 (five years ago)
I'd wolf one down if offered.
― pomenitul, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:12 (five years ago)
i know this doesn't even really qualify as food but I got one of these by accident a couple of years ago and it was genuinely one of the worst things I've ever put in my mouth:

i'm sorry i don't understand the question
― the late great, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:20 (five years ago)
Do french fries belong inside of burritos? What do you think?
― pomenitul, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:20 (five years ago)
are ppl who live outside of southern california allowed to have opinions on mexican food? asking for a friend
i mean "mexican" food
― the late great, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:21 (five years ago)
they don't really eat burritos in mexico so much
Everyone's allowed an opinion on 'Mexican' food, as long as you acknowledge the scare quotes.
― pomenitul, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:22 (five years ago)
New Mexicans, Texans, and Arizonans are allowed to, too.
― the unappreciated charisma of cows (Aimless), Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:22 (five years ago)
disagree
― the late great, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:23 (five years ago)
Is 'Tex-Mex' fair game?
― pomenitul, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:23 (five years ago)
interesting tactic to claim burritos for Mexico and then immediately put quotes around Mexico all while arguing for the primacy of a place that’s not Mexico
― sound of scampo talk to me (El Tomboto), Wednesday, 2 September 2020 20:25 (five years ago)
sorry i'm so snarky but it's 1:30 pm and i haven't had my burrito yet

next you're going to ask if fish belongs in tacos

lol we're not going to be the ones shitting bricks.
Burritos are awesome. I love burritos. They are like the easiest thing to efficiently eat the most things at once. They're like pizza wrapped into a tube.

Would you say that burrito defined a generation?
― pomenitul, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 23:33 (five years ago)
i think the chipotle sauce had a splash of heavy cream in it and i've been avoiding that lately
― the late great, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 23:45 (five years ago)
I feel like we need ILX poster "the burrito that defined a generation" to weigh in here, perhaps they are offended by the suggestion that their only value is delicious sustenance when in fact they can sometimes define an entire generation.
― sleeve, Wednesday, 2 September 2020 23:48 (five years ago)
I was thinking about burritos this week, I feel the call
the best california burritos are pretty good, but I think I like regular rice and bean burritos (with choice of meat and cheese) better
― Dan S, Thursday, 3 September 2020 00:38 (five years ago)
this here fella is still lamenting the retirement of the celebrated Taco Bell® 7-Layer™, a food item generally regarded among my peers as having contributed significantly to the cultural zeitgeist
my nearest neighborhood shop makes a Costeño (grilled tilapia, mushrooms, cabbage, poblanos, corn, and sour cream) and I've been liking that lately when I feel like getting out of my typical California or Carne Asada comfort zone, cause I'm a basic bro who needs to bureet down on the reg

btw, like all mariscos burritos, the Costeño comes with a lime wedge wrapped up within the wrapper, which is always cute af
