I was going to say somewhere out near the peripherique in Paris, it has that vibe. But having googled the upside down triangle sign, it has "cedez le passage" underneath it in France, but not in Belgium, so I'm guessing Brussels. That curved lattice structure to the right should be identifiable.

And the apartment block sizes are too small for peripherique Paris, further strengthening the case for Brussels.

Those road signs (red triangle and yellow diamond) are used in many countries I think. This is very thin soup indeed but the serif on the 1 looks fairly Dutch to me!

Because of the yellow diamond road sign and the design of the apartment blocks, I'm hazarding a guess at the Netherlands, perhaps Rotterdam?

I dunno, I find it hard to imagine those noticeboards with tattered "take one" strips at the bottom in the bus stops attached to stadium, or what look like pasted-up photocopied flyers/ posters for events - they have more of the feel of a university or hospital or something.

That page is the rabbit hole I've been down for a chunk of today. Comparing the morphology of figure 1s was a particular high point.

I've seen some pretty intense guides that serious geoguessr players have written up regarding road signs, road markings, bollard types, crash barrier styles, distance markers etc etc etc that could be very useful too, but sadly don't have any links saved.

Its not Whitley Bay! Too early to be giving any more hints other than what can be determined in the picture itself though!

I have picked up nothing worth having, past being fairly certain this is in the UK somewhere (I mean, if you told me it was Ireland I wouldn't be utterly amazed) (I suppose this goes for all the little islands as well but you know what I mean). Doesn't look rocky enough for Cornwall. I'd expect more red stone if it was Devon. It might be the power of NV's suggestion but somewhere on the east coast seems a fair guess.

I can't even work out what that tower is supposed to be: a windmill that's had a chimney built on to it?
