I'm near Foster-Powell. What sort of timing are we thinking? Is a weekday lunch OK? My work schedule is pretty flexible and a lot of times I'll go to Pizzeria Otto FoPo, they have a Margherita lunch special at a really good price. That's just an opening suggestion, though, I have a car so I can go damn near anywhere.

Had a great lunch with Kate today at Pizzeria Otto FoPo ($8 for a wood-fired Margherita pizza!). I love how Portland still has good cheap meals for $10 and under (no sales tax makes a big difference).

Anyway. Hope more of us can meet up this spring/summer!

I am visiting and this is my last night here. Trying to find a way to get into the sold-out Conner O'Malley show at the Aladdin Theater.

ice storm is looking pretty bad tomorrow... i'm hunkered down in my girlfriend's apartment. it was built for student housing so the insulation is pretty good, unlike with my apartment where the walls are made of paper. expecting widespread power outages tomorrow. we got food and plenty of blankets and we should be ok. hope everyone in the area is staying safe.

i haven't lost power through the first part of this other than blips and it came right back, but yeah tomorrow's the real test. should all burn off wednesday

so icy down here in Eugene, haven't left the house since Saturday mid-day. not even the buses are running!

actually I did manage to take the pup for a short walk this afternoon, she seemed to enjoy it! but it is an ice rink, 20-minute walk and I almost fell twice

Power was out at the office, okay in the neighborhood. Picked up an electric heater on Saturday morning after one night of the wind getting thru the windows into the bedroom. Cats have mainly been indoors for the past 3 days and are complaining about it

We lost power for three hours Saturday morning, got it back, then lost it again at 1:30pm as the thermometer was hitting 15F with 35 mph winds. We lived with wood-burning fireplace heat and a camp stove for the next 52 hours or so. Our living room eventually stabilized at 47F. We set a timer at one hour intervals all night to feed the fire, taking turns.

We got power back yesterday (Monday) at 5pm. Since then we've raised the house back up to 68F, got some sleep, and today we've been prepping like mad for the next outage from the coming ice storm. We still have lots of wood, but only about 65% of what we had going into this storm. We'll survive. We've lived through similar events multiple times. Just not much fun.

Car windows here (Southeast) iced over solid in about 15 minutes. Can't imagine what 12 hours of this will be like if the graupel continues. Have been lucky keeping heat and power this past weekend and mostly hunkering down, though the snow has been un-slippery the past two days and easy for walking.

My wife and I tried walking to the grocery store yesterday and she fell and injured her wrist. Ended up taking her to the ER and it was full of concussed folks who slipped on ice.

my girlfriend got her car stolen overnight, kudos to them i guess for putting in all the work to steal a car in this weather

Damn that sucks. Plenty of stuff shuttered in Multnomah and Clackamas Counties today.
