can we implement #onethread?

i used to browse by board, then i moved to site new answers, and now i basically just sift through my neverending series of bookmarks. it's amazing, and tbh i'd do it for far less than the $35/hour i'm getting paid right now

I would be okay w/ letting some bookmarks fester at the bottom of a list, but arranged as they are I have some kind of disorder which compels me to keep clearing them out

let's just fire up mIRC and create a DALnet chat room.

also change who the AOPs are each day, and every time someone chats about the secret forbidden topic, they're permabanned for the day.

Is there a publicly accessible API? If people really want to test what it would be like, I bet it wouldn't be hard to build a Discord bot that just relays posts into a discord channel in near-real time. Probably wouldn't have functionality to post back to the website, but the bot could include the link to the thread so if you want to reply in-thread, you can click on it and post. Otherwise, if you would like to just comment in the "single thread only", you can just chat in Discord as the posts roll by.

ilx drinking game:

take a drink whenever someone suggests a discord

take two whenever someone points out there's already an ilx slack so really, why would anyone need an ilx discord? slack is really popular with the kids, and with "the kids" i mean "people who are for some reason forced to use it for work"
