They’ve succeeded in making me mumble “Marco, you shithead” at the screen so they’ve nailed the character so far

Hoping they don't hold back on the extreme Earth-based events in the book that are only hinted at there (trying not to spoil for non-book folk)

I guess they had to get rid of that character to show the ruthlessness of the rising one. It's just a shame it had to be that character cos I liked them.
Good ending they had though.

haven't read the books but I'm stoked 4 Amos in Baltimore

Amos in balitmore is one of my favourite sequences from the books, whereas the Marco inaros stuff is one of the bits I found most tedious. However, the series has fixed the stodgier paced parts of the books.

Stoked for this.

Amos in Baltimore is the best (in depth, not necessarily in writing) single character arc and I hope they at least delve into it. As the books progress you get a sense of how he adapts, and what he’s moved through in that adaptation. in short, <3 amos

I'll be curious how they handle the Cas Anvar situation, which erupted after production concluded. He's barely present in S5 promotional material. I wouldn't be surprised if some arrangement where he continues as Alex, but doesn't represent the show at fan conventions, is how it will be handled.

I started reading the books because I got tired of waiting. They are fast, easy reads, though I still prefer the show if just for the visuals. Seems I did not start reading soon enough, as I've just finished the book the fourth season is based on, and now we're close enough I can wait for the next season

I binged all 8 early this year and now have to wait until 2021 for the end.

Thinking I'm going to rewatch all four seasons in the next few weeks. Also very happy that most of the new season will be released weekly instead of all at once.

There's going to be a lot of story compression in season 6, to cover the arc in books 7/8/9. Sure, some scene setting can be done in a B-story of season 5, but if the broadcast series mimics the book timeline, that will be limited.

I want a Drummer spinoff series, focusing on events between seasons 5 and 6.

I wish s4 had compressed its A-plot to, like, 3-4 episodes tbh

I'm assuming they won't do books 7 to 9 xps

Especially (book spoiler): given the big time jump from book 6 to 7

No Cas Anvar in the final season either, guess they are taking the complaints seriously

xp: Makeup on the principals and cobwebs in the corners of the Roci are not expensive, as production costs go. I'd like to see a Drummer spinoff series occupying the interval between seasons 5 and 6.
