yeah I'm fairly pleased considering how rusty they are, that they seem to be moving the ball well, unlike the beginning of the campaign, which I feared they'd revert to due to the rust.

Still don’t get the mild to very positive attitude towards audience sound out of a tin. How is this anything but laughable with empty stands and knowing there’s not a single fan in the stadium? Why do people so desperately agree on being deceived and play along even?

the sound in TV sports are never "real" anyway. there's a lot of work that goes on in the background to juice up the audio, from using special mic techniques that pick up sounds you would never hear if you were there, to using library sound effects to make things sound bigger/fuller.

Also they censor out offensive chants and it's weird when you can hear ball-thwack so loudly sometimes when the crowd is in full voice etc so yes, they manipulate the mix and gently fuck with your sense of where your ears are located within the stadium. I guess I'm just being horribly rockist and would prefer some sort of approximation of thee authentic sounds of the match in question

actually it's not, I'm more resentful of the blatancy of the psychological coercion going on, so maybe this will just lead me to hating manipulated crowd noise when we go back to normal times?
