I realise Twitter world cups are anathema to some, but in July, Tom Ewing will be running one on tracks from 1990 and is looking for nominations this week. Here's the current list of nominations:

I'll make out just fine if this is so, but can you not play embedded Twitter videos on ILX or third-party sites now, or is there a glitch in my browser? I can still play YouTubes.

It's a promising idea for a sitcom, writer has a minor disagreement on Twitter about something, obsesses about it and ends up destroying his life just because he can't bear to be wrong once. Pretty dark sitcom, in the upside the wage bill for actors would decrease as the show progressed.

did they change what gets included in the number of RTs? i'm suddenly seeing tweets with like 5x more RTs than likes. mainly on ratio'd tweets though. it's messing up my frame of reference. this is extremely important

either they're now including replies to RTs as RTs or they're including quote tweets as RTs and they weren't before? that would make sense i guess

just got this NYT alert:

"The twitter accounts of several prominent figures appears to have been hacked - including Joe Biden, Kanye West, Bill Gates and Elon Musk"

would this be a hack into twitter's database? how else would you get into so many different people's accounts?

Within hours of the tweets appearing, nearly 300 people had fallen for the scam, sending more than $100,000 to the wallet.

Feel like this must be some exploit because all those people are going to have security on their accounts right? It’s not like lifting some pleb’s details off a database.

Either way, it's kind of impressive tbh.
