I don't watch him religiously (rubbernecking not being the noblest impulse), but I tuned into one of his livestreams, and at one point an anonymous Canadian guy donated a few hundred dollars to his channel. Elvis didn't even acknowledge the gift, and everyone in the chat was like, "Elvis, you asshole" while implying that this had happened before. his devotees/trolls are almost as bizarre as he is

Having only watched 3 whole eps so far I'm really impressed by how well these are shot and edited given that they're doing all the cooking outdoors in real time

I love the lack of narration—just naming the ingredients to the sounds of chirping birds

also occasional brief cutaways to a couple goats or chickens

Also whenever the dude announces “vegetable oil!” before dumping half of that big yellow jerry can into the pot

I'm listening to the H3 interview. Apparently AGNB has existed in some form for something like 6 years now, first as a print zine with transcriptions of interviews recorded while Andrew was hitch-hiking. Pretty damn cool.

I am not on the AGNB patreon yet but I really should be.

I expected the Burning Man AGNB to be a hit piece but honestly that was a lot sunnier than my experience at Burning Man.

Nexpo is a good channel for exploring dark/weird media mini-documentaries.

Caveat: It does suffer from the droney, x-files music in the background and the narrator has a really curious habit of adding an 's' to words that end in a 't' (why do some many of these YT guys have such odd voices?), but the content is A+
