the posts get promoted, they make less sense (and clog up the space for anyone interested in making functional use of the hashtag), fewer people who see them mimic the behavior or redirect it into their own networks - it's like gresham's law but for when you actually want the good money to be driven out by the bad

you guys it's so much worse than any of us thought... I clicked a tweet in a thread and swear to god it took me to a place with many more tweets... tens of thousands of tweets, and each one more horrifying than the last. a veritable living nightmare. i fear that with these reserves at hand, tweets will soon outnumber posts by an insurmountable margin

did they change what gets included in the number of RTs? i'm suddenly seeing tweets with like 5x more RTs than likes. mainly on ratio'd tweets though. it's messing up my frame of reference. this is extremely important

either they're now including replies to RTs as RTs or they're including quote tweets as RTs and they weren't before? that would make sense i guess
