I unfollow so many people that I forget I'm friends with them. noticed an old friend defriended me today on FB Purity, tried to find out why, realized I'd unfollowed him years ago, and found post after post of creepy pro-cop rhetoric.

Maybe it is weird, and yes, I don't want to be a dick about it. BradNelson makes a good point. There was a not-bad pop-culture blog that I used to follow, but the guy started posting endless photos from cosplay meetups and I had to stop reading it because I was gonna end up grinding all the enamel off my teeth. Now I'm free to not care about cosplay for months on end.

From the general cultural ether? Idk, the fact that we all know exactly what cosplay is now but didn't 20 yrs ago speaks to the fact. Same thing with ComicCon. I'm not on social media so unfollowing wouldn't do much good (not that it's much of a problem for me)

was up at 2 am last night buying new washing up cleaners on e-bay and was reading some sponge and scouring pad reviews. The reviewer was complaining about a particular brand of pad that left scratches on their stainless steel pan. Like who gives a monkey's arsehole about scratching stainless steel and how does that have any adverse effect on cooking with it? I have a hand me down Prestige stainless steel saucepan from the at least the early 60's that gets scrubbed hard after every use and is all good! I abandoned teflon precisely because I was sick of having to be gentle with it and only fuck with stainless steel, iron and carbon steel now, and don't give a flying fork about the appearance of my cookware as long as it functions to cook stuff with who cares?
