zach's old animations and new visual art, updated every 25 to 60 days

i'm not sure why i posted that, but in the cold morning light i do like the stickman's form! i gotta remember that, next time i'm doing late-night stickmen.

i'm pretty excited about my next self-commission: a portrait of my Cyberpunk 2020 character I made last night. I'm playing Ten Ton Heat, a Fixer that also plays drums for an up-and-coming band that has a gig on a pirate radio station barge near Seattle in a couple weeks. I'm not quite sure what i look like, other than my Attractiveness level is 6 (making me the third hottest member of the band; we have a pair of identical twins from Chechnya that are incredibly hot and charismatic, with very low intelligence), and I've purchased a set of SmartGoggles with 3 CyberOptic modules: Teleoptics (20x zoom), MicroVideo Optic (I can record up to 20 minutes of video), and Infrared.

i should move that discussion to the tabletop RPG thread, but i'm also going to either paint it, sketch it up digitally, or both. i've only painted one figure before (about an inch tall on the canvas) so i'm nervous and excited to try to do a large one

we rolled most of our character's backstories and "Life Events", although we did manually adjust a few things for more fun. here's what the other crew ended up like:

Rockerboy (one of the twins, and the one that is pretty much the band's "leader", even though we're agreed that we're a group of equals, and i've demanded that we share any band income equally. he put everything into Cool and Attractiveness, and the Rockerboy Special Ability: Charismatic Leadership, which allows him to sway an audience up to his level (10) squared, x 200. which is 20,000 people! in a strange twist of random rolling luck, he has the most starting money out of all of us - $24,000 Eurodollars, compared to my $3000 and the Nomad's $1000), but he also just lost his job, so he has no more monthly income coming in. since he's the rich guy in the group, i made him buy me top of the line electronic drums ($800).)

Techie (the other hot twin, more of a multi-instrumentalist. He and the identical twin Rockerboy grew up with a family that "vanished", which is funny because my family also "vanished", separately, in Vietnam. normally the Techie will be visually distinguishable from the Rockerboy because he'll always have lots of hologram related gear on. but we've also established that if the situation demands it, the twins can truly seem identical to other people, so there will definitely be fun shenanigans.)

Nomad (the bass player. also an orphan or abandoned earlier in life. all four of us are like that, and generally we have no money (except for the Rockerboy's previous windfall of cash from his previous gig).

i'm going to work on my character portrait later this week. can't wait to get started for real!

I’d like to raise some money for community bail funds, which provide money to pay off unaffordable bonds for people charged with crimes. These organizations could always use support, and never so more than at this critical moment. In Chicago, for example, police are targeting peaceful protest organizers, and 700 people were arrested on Sunday alone.

have you thought about making a 100-gif magnum opus where each gif is its own individual animation, but when placed in a specific order on a 10 x 10 grid so that they form a mega-gif?

I have! Not 100 (10x10) gifs, exactly, but I've wanted to do a really big one with dozens of different pieces that fit together. The problem has just been hosting. Tumblr can't handle animated images wider than 500 pixels, let alone a megasaur gif combo. And my old barrylutz space wouldn't accommodate it well, either. And of course on ILX it wouldn't work (I think on some stylesheets it might look ok but I'm not sure, and in any case most people wouldn't be using the correct stylesheet and it would look different on everyone's monitors, etc)

hm.. how's about the next 9 requests you get, try to configure it so that you can put them into a 3x3 brady-bunch style one?
you could do it as a table like:

hey, can i throw out another idea that involves asking people (non-ilxors too) to donate money to an org?

in this case it would be the National Lawyers Guild (https://www.nlg.org/donate/). they are amazing and have been helping not just protesters with their legal issues, but also the immigrant community, people of color, LGBTQ+, etc. we've been working with several of NLG's staff recently and they are all really inspiring people.

the problem that no one even knew existed: when i ragequit my tumblr and instagram because my dad's a racist, a few years ago, i lost a lot of "followers" that i used to have back in the day. i thought i'd eventually get them back, but i underestimated how much i lack the enthusiasm to "get myself out there" upon my stabilization from or inside of *tim rogers voiceover* DEPRESSION. why am i typing this?

the solution you thought i'd never get to: what if i bundled together all of my tumblr-era images (just downloaded them all in bulk) i could put the whole thing on a thumb drive and package it in some new cheap-ass container and send it to people in return for donating money to a NLG fundraiser page (either one that already exists, or one i set up)? i'm not sure what the price would be, but i would probably set it at name your price, minimum of my supply costs (5GB thumbdrives bought in bulk and a cheap diy case for it, cheap as possible) + shipping, so probably like $15 or $20 minimum? and probably a lot of people would pay more?

i don't think too many of the teen goths who used to follow me on tumblr are following me on twitter or instagram these days. but there might be enough to sell at least 20 or 30 of these packages, on the low end. and then on the other end, maybe some nice will respond to my PR exertions and give me a write-up, and a lot of other people will buy it too. am i just high again? what do you all think?
