speaking of, here's a Charlie Kirk video that's been making the rounds. what's surprising is not how horrible a "debater" this guy is (his go-to move seems to be shouting "I AM A CHRISTIAN" over and over) but rather the fact that he posted this himself, I cannot imagine how diseased your brain has to be to think he comes off well here

Kirk clearly won that debate. He had a louder microphone and the patsy he was up against was ill-prepared and hadn't thought ahead and brought a bigger microphone, what did he expect? Kirk dominated this debate with an alpha performance, not just the superior equipment he had with him but his willingness to bulldoze the other guy and show who was boss.

The difference in preparation was stark. Kirk had clearly put the time in, and got himself a pretty decent looking stage. What did the other guy come with, a plaid shirt? And expected to win?

He probably thought he had better ideas? Well what use is that without the resolve and cojones to deliver them?

i think the masculine=order/feminine=chaos thing is at the root of it all though. he was threatened by trans people because they complicated his binary. he wanted to stamp out what he saw as "chaos." that's why he only ate one food.

it doesn't diminish the harm of those ideas. i don't understand why you think i am mobilizing a defense of ideas i am ridiculing.

also, obviously i am also not saying that people with mental illness shouldn't be listened to. but in this case, the ideas are emerging from the neuroses, directly and without self awareness on his part. they are an expression of paranoia.

He probably likes the idea of Andreyev as a young, white intellectual male artist working within an aesthetic tradition known for its reactionary credentials (except the contemporary classical scene has tended towards the exact opposite of that in recent decades, but I doubt JP knows or cares).
