Oh no.

Chewshabadoo, Sunday, 12 April 2020 12:47 (six years ago)

was just looking for this thread to say that.
Shame.Did enjoy tHe Goodies though may have had more syumpathy for the less avowed Tories in that.
Think he's been in some good stuff since then.

John Conway of Conway's Game of Life...

I am sorry to confirm the passing of my colleague John Conway. An incomparable mathematician, a pleasant neighbor, and an excellent coffee acquaintance.

His passing was sudden (fever started only Wednesday morning). Part of coronavirus's hard toll in New Jersey.

Sad news to report.
I heard from Samantha Fox’s sister this afternoon that Samantha passed away on April 22nd. The suspected cause was cardio-vascular illness with CV-19 complications.
She will be sadly missed. pic.twitter.com/go1K4nPf3M

Reminds me: leading science reporter Donald G. McNeil Jr. keeps popping up on NPR , in amazeballs speculation-anticipation re coming New Post-Sick Elite, and hey, he's from the New York Times---but I haven't heard any scientists who seemed more than hopeful about this, in a low-key way.
