calzino, Thursday, 9 April 2020 17:09 (six years ago)

Suzy is probably right about the need to keep the most vocally disloyal and troublesome MPs at least theoretically onside but in places where they can't do any real damage.

Unfortunately it also puts them in a position where they can also throw their toys out of the pram and prominently resign when they aren't being paid sufficient attention.

Matt DC, Thursday, 9 April 2020 17:11 (six years ago)

i mean by all accounts phillips has been doing good work on domestic violence, but the other two i mean kinnock ffs the man’s an absolute fucking fool.

and generally i think this promote the right push is v v bad as it’s where the next cabinet members (at least in theory) come from.

Fizzles, Thursday, 9 April 2020 18:02 (six years ago)

"phillips has been doing good work on domestic violence"

credit where it is due it is the one subject she is quite authoritative sounding on in a non-bullshitty manner. i was listening to her on 5 live the other week and thinking this Jess Phillips soundalike is talking sense here.

calzino, Thursday, 9 April 2020 18:37 (six years ago)

More likely former Red Wedge acolyte Billy Bragg, can’t imagine Gapes has a deep knowledge of American indie.
