I liked the cheering mostly because I haven’t been able to leave my flat in days and it was nice to hear all those human voices around. Also some boats blew their whistles which is always fun

Obviously fuck outright Tories glomming onto this but I think there are a lot of people out there who don't see or appreciate the contradictions between their beliefs and their voting behaviour, especially when it comes to the NHS. At the moment I'm inclined to be a little more forgiving of that than I was, say, three months ago.

Yeah I agree, tho being forgiving in how I behave doesn't mean not raging in my head, and forgiveness or not I've got no faith that even a single person might examine their "contradictions" and amend their future political habits

people are generally content in their contradictions - i know loads of people who consider themselves animal lovers that go all gaga over all the lambs skipping around in the fields andall that stuff, but eat meat all the time and don't really give a fuck about how it got there. i've kind of accepted that this'll never change, sentimentalism and self-centredness often go hand-in-hand
