maybe it's just all the live shows lately, them tying the show so closely to Bernie's political fortunes, and just the growing sense that some kinda *moment* is currently unfolding that's gonna create a new before and after...but I find myself a little exhausted with them and I'm projecting that outward. then again maybe a Biden nomination will re-invigorate their sense of purpose.

Though also that's kind of a bullshit line, it's five bucks a month and they routinely signal boost worthy causes to donate to and/or they just straight up fundraise for xps

from a $ pov I feel like biden getting the nom and then losing to trump is the best thing that could happen to them

I'm black wolf too but the wealthy white brooklynites thing is dumb as hell - Will and Felix openly acknowledge their economic privilege, Amber and Matt came from working or middle-class backgrounds, Virgil was apparently so wealthy he graduated from college with six figures of debt

I've been trying with True Anon; I kinda love Liz (virtuosic levels of vocal fry!) but I'm still finding that a whole hour+ of Brace is just too much Brace.

I'm guessing each Chapo is making like $400k/year if you include all the live shows and stuff they do and take out expenses. Great for them! I'm assuming it's a similar career trajectory to a pro athlete--15-20 years if they're really lucky, more likely shorter, could just drop off abruptly. God forbid people make a high upper middle class living for a little while while making an enormous difference for political causes.

I'm also glad they inadvertently helped create a broader ecosystem of lefty independent media that can subsist solely on small donations

It's the only thing i have Patreon sub for. It's great - though the interviews are always slightly maddening. There's an immense amount of interesting stuff but they're both completely incapable of staying on one topic for more than thirty seconds.

i want to check out true anon, i have a friend that vouches for it, but idk if i can get used to liz's hardcore vocal fry
