This is a servicable version of "The List" but for dance/DJ/electronic:

This is kinda cringey but there's some good stuff listed in here:

e.g. Kraftwerk in June at Bill Graham

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 6 March 2020 16:33 (six years ago)

what dates are we talking about here?

Οὖτις, Friday, 6 March 2020 21:59 (six years ago)

yeah codys closed years ago sadly. you could check Moe's.

akm, Friday, 6 March 2020 22:56 (six years ago)

What are the best bookstores in the Bay Area for pop culture and critical theory?

― Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Wednesday, March 4, 2020 3:15 PM (three days ago)

Moe's. Green Apple is good. There are also small places like E.M. Wolfmann, Issues, and Adobe books that are worth a look if that's an interest.

sarahell, Saturday, 7 March 2020 22:17 (six years ago)

Went to Moe's for the first time in November. Definitely going back when I'm there in a week. They had an insane amount of stuff, mostly reasonably priced. Will make sure to check out Green Apple this time too.

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Saturday, 7 March 2020 23:34 (six years ago)

SFUSD closing on Monday for three weeks.

DJI, Thursday, 12 March 2020 22:15 (six years ago)

So... what to do in SF

Οὖτις, Thursday, 12 March 2020 22:16 (six years ago)

time for the great outdoors

that's not my post, Thursday, 12 March 2020 22:27 (six years ago)

P much. Good thing we have a lot of it!

Οὖτις, Thursday, 12 March 2020 22:58 (six years ago)

I went for a bike ride today, up the Wiggle, across the GGB, etc. Seems fine? Probably less dangerous than picking up food at the cafe? No idea really.

lukas, Thursday, 12 March 2020 23:14 (six years ago)

Yeah, the fact that I'm Bernal Heights means one can always just walk up the hill for some exercise and a view -- but with the rain coming in, looks like it's a hunker down weekend no matter what.

Ned Raggett, Thursday, 12 March 2020 23:30 (six years ago)

God forbid water falling from the sky...

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 13 March 2020 00:38 (six years ago)

from the... Heavens! ;-)

Jersey Al (Albert R. Broccoli), Friday, 13 March 2020 03:24 (six years ago)

Astounding.

Ned Raggett, Friday, 13 March 2020 04:43 (six years ago)

Gimme shelter (in place)

https://www.sfchronicle.com/local-politics/article/Bay-Area-must-shelter-in-place-Only-15135014.php

Ned Raggett, Monday, 16 March 2020 19:16 (six years ago)

what to do in it = nothing

Οὖτις, Monday, 16 March 2020 19:29 (six years ago)

i'm even wondering if my trip in june will still be on. who the fuck knows what will happen by then

marcos, Monday, 16 March 2020 19:30 (six years ago)

FAP 6 ft away from me?

Οὖτις, Monday, 16 March 2020 19:33 (six years ago)

My boss is having a meltdown. Not that it makes a difference because all 3 of our stores have done hardly any business the last week. I’m still expected to work, since I’m in production.

just1n3, Monday, 16 March 2020 20:10 (six years ago)

no update from Sacramento yet but my guess is the same is coming soon

terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Monday, 16 March 2020 20:22 (six years ago)

xp - do you do mail order, too?

Also -- does anyone know if the Department of Building Inspection is open or closed?

sarahell, Monday, 16 March 2020 21:00 (six years ago)

depends on how much cash you have in that envelope

Larry Elleison (rogermexico.), Monday, 16 March 2020 22:49 (six years ago)

Luckily, we are headed back home tomorrow, but it has certainly been a weird time for a SF vacation

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Tuesday, 17 March 2020 00:35 (six years ago)

Xp yeah we do. My boss is being a dick about this whole thing. I spent 2 hrs embroiled in a pointless text conversation with her and the patternmaker, trying to convince her our 2 elderly seamstresses should not be working the same hours as each other because they work in the same area. I work way in the back and the PM works upstairs, and we’re making sure not to be there when the seamstresses are.

just1n3, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 03:02 (six years ago)

So, uh, anybody know if laundromats are still gonna be open?

Fetchboy, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 05:58 (six years ago)

there’s specific language allowing them to remain open. plumbers too.

Larry Elleison (rogermexico.), Tuesday, 17 March 2020 06:01 (six years ago)

Fantastic, thanks!

Fetchboy, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 15:16 (six years ago)

they have relaxed parking enforcement -- but not entirely! Oh San Francisco, so on brand!

sarahell, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 18:50 (six years ago)

why did they shut down w33d delivery argh

Οὖτις, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 18:57 (six years ago)

now that is a bad move -- you can get groceries delivered, you can get office supplies delivered, you can get medicine delivered .... seriously wtf

sarahell, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 18:59 (six years ago)

berkeley pot shops open for medical only, which of course I don't have anymore, so looks like I need to get an online card.

akm, Tuesday, 17 March 2020 19:00 (six years ago)

bike riding for exercise is okay, which ... i'm definitely going to do it, but i'll feel obscurely guilty about it.

terminators of endearment (VegemiteGrrl), Wednesday, 18 March 2020 03:56 (six years ago)

Some businesses do not have the luxury of offering takeout or delivery. “Even though I think of mini golf as ‘essential,’ said Urban Put owner Steve Fox, “it doesn’t qualify.”

sarahell, Wednesday, 18 March 2020 20:23 (six years ago)

haha - that place is pretty cool actually. not the brewpub aspect of it, but the course/holes are very cleverly designed

was bummed to learn that Borderlands isn't doing mail order :( Had to resort to ordering from Powell's in Portland.

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 18 March 2020 20:30 (six years ago)

Powell's is closing too, isn't it? Just saw a Portland pal post about it

sarahell, Wednesday, 18 March 2020 20:30 (six years ago)

yes but their online store is open. Borderlands was previously doing mail order through Biblio.com, but they said they can't fill orders right now

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 18 March 2020 20:32 (six years ago)

shit Powell's just laid everybody off :(

um where can I order some books from

Οὖτις, Wednesday, 18 March 2020 21:14 (six years ago)

there are some libraries that let you join their e-book loan program remotely for a fee

absolute idiot liar uneducated person (mh), Wednesday, 18 March 2020 22:42 (six years ago)

I know a place ;) xp

DJI, Wednesday, 18 March 2020 23:34 (six years ago)

saw a Tinder tagline "wanna walk six feet apart in GGP?"

lukas, Thursday, 19 March 2020 03:09 (six years ago)

it’s been weird to have left SF just before all of this exploded. I spent time in Mexico in relative isolation and came back to madness
