xpost yep. she may be the best candidate that we will see in our lifetime (maybe hyperbole but still feeling it) it's very disappointing.

AOC maybe, though by the time she's eligible the right-wing blob will have pumped nearly a decade of demonizing into their minions' brains.

Evans on Hammond (evol j), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:39 (six years ago)

even now, i still believe that bernie is going to win. i'm waiting for my vote by mail ballot to arrive, and i can't wait to actually register my vote in a case where it actually matters

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!πŸ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:39 (six years ago)

xp: My view, as in 2016: the revolution needs a better figurehead. AOC will be much more potent than Bernie.

Save us, Covid19 (Sanpaku), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:39 (six years ago)

uncomfortable open secret: there are actually zero democratic politicians between the ages of 40 and 65

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!πŸ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:40 (six years ago)

wish her plan to get rid of the filibuster had some influence

Schumer has floated it, whether the whole Dem Senate caucus goes along w it is a different question

ΞŸα½–Ο„ΞΉΟ‚, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:42 (six years ago)

i suppose that generation got together in an enchanted mystery room several decades ago and put all of their combined powers into obama. everyone else walked out of the room with jack squat

xp

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!πŸ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:42 (six years ago)

xp: Warren could have dominated the middle lane. I think her major mistake was a nuanced embrace of M4A rather than public option in November. She was never going to peel off voters from Sander's messianism. And it cost her half her support to Buttigieg and Klobuchar.

Gen X couldn't be bothered

Warren is dropping out today and will alert staff shortly, confirming @ShaneGoldmacher @AsteadWesley scoop. Someone w/ the campaign says she is contemplating not endorsing, endorsing Bernie, or even endorsing Biden.

Why not do them all?

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:43 (six years ago)

Personally can't wait for a chance to vote for AOC.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:47 (six years ago)

Her supporters are a coalition of moderates drawn by personal qualities and specific policies (me), progressives who prefer her to Sanders, and feminists. She should call upon them and her delegates to vote their conscience.

Save us, Covid19 (Sanpaku), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:47 (six years ago)

xpost I like AOC a lot but I worry about how well she could translate to the non-bubble demo. I'm a resident of Queens and I am often taken aback that a lot of people in Queens and the Bronx (poc) don't like her.

Yerac, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:47 (six years ago)

So my head's still spinning from the past...christ, not even a week, but are we at this point down to Biden vs. Sanders...vs. Gabbard? Whu?

Waifu-ed Around and Fell in Love (Old Lunch), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:47 (six years ago)

I've noticed Liz Lads can't acknowledge a fuckup without ultimately blaming it on voters

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:48 (six years ago)

xxpost I think if these primaries and elections demonstrate anything it's that a lot of people don't like a lot of people.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:48 (six years ago)

Warren could have dominated the middle lane.

Except these are the people who abandoned her en masse.

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:50 (six years ago)

Tulsi's continuing candidacy is a bit like someone forgetting to cancel a Netflix membership after they've lost internet access

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:50 (six years ago)

if/when democratic voters give biden the nomination over bernie, i fully plan on ultimately blaming it on them

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!πŸ˜‚ (Karl Malone), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:50 (six years ago)

Personally can't wait for a chance to vote for AOC.

I heart AOC but there is absolutely no evidence she could perform at a national level (or even wants to)

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:50 (six years ago)

i am even worried she won't keep her seat next election.

Yerac, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:51 (six years ago)

I don't want her going anywhere.

TikTok to the (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:52 (six years ago)

i figure tulsi is still in it to rake in donations.

Yerac, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:52 (six years ago)

or launder money. whatevs.

Yerac, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:52 (six years ago)

these are the people who abandoned her en masse

The did so in late November and December, *after* Warren released her M4A platform. Since then, she was a 10-15% candidate in most polls.

Save us, Covid19 (Sanpaku), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:53 (six years ago)

Assuming she keeps her seat I hope she keeps up with the PAC and expanding the # of leftist reps for a good long time

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:53 (six years ago)

I think one way or another AOC *is* performing at a national level.

Josh in Chicago, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:53 (six years ago)

At this particular moment AOC is kinda my dream prez candidate which, iirc, means that she has no shot of ever becoming president.

Waifu-ed Around and Fell in Love (Old Lunch), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:53 (six years ago)

my friend's pastor is trying to run against her next election. I am like good luck throwing that $ away and taking your time.

Yerac, Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:54 (six years ago)

they won't get pastor

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:55 (six years ago)

it's a large, conservative for NY/religious hispanic community in the bronx.

If she ever steps down from her role as AFL-CIO leader I would fuckin kill for Sara Nelson to enter politics

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:58 (six years ago)

electoral politics that is

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Thursday, 5 March 2020 16:58 (six years ago)

one of the main reasons I decided not to vote for her was her refusal to nuke Biden regarding the bankruptcy bill. It's literally why she got into politics(tm) and she didn't say a fucking thing about it in the debates. Assume its because she didn't want to rock the establishment boat but it was her prime opportunity to distinguish herself and she didn't do it.

the twitter mob absolutely will. I won’t be one of them. I’m glad she stuck it out. I hope she ends up with major sway in a Biden admin (but I I honestly doubt it :-/)

but tbf Warren stans would absolutely, without question100% do the same were the shoe on the other foot.

tbh folks can't blame klobucher and pete for their alleged strategic move of dropping out/endorsing Biden, and then yell at warren for not doing the same thing for Bernie in a timely manner. i mean they *can* but idk.

Klobuchar and Pete dropping out was a move in service of an awful goal - people wanted Warren to drop out in service of a not-awful goal. These are not contradictory ideas.
