Do all these people dropping out improve the case for Warren at all or is she still toast?

― Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Monday, March 2, 2020 12:50 PM (five seconds ago) bookmarkflaglink

I think Bernie is the only person whose departure from the race could improve the case for Warren.

jaymc, Monday, 2 March 2020 18:51 (six years ago)

I mean, everyone benefits from a smaller field, but I don't think she stands to gain significant ground.

jaymc, Monday, 2 March 2020 18:52 (six years ago)

Going to be loads of pressure on Warren to go now, right? I mean, more than before.

median punt (gyac), Monday, 2 March 2020 18:52 (six years ago)

I just have not seen any realistic path to victory for her.

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Monday, 2 March 2020 18:54 (six years ago)

She's still picking up good endorsements and just dropped another plan today (farmworkers and food chain workers). I hope she sticks around til the end.

Yerac, Monday, 2 March 2020 18:54 (six years ago)

We'll see if she loses Mass. or not.

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Monday, 2 March 2020 18:55 (six years ago)

Neither Biden nor Sanders really needs her to drop out, I don't think, so I don't think their campaigns would do her the indignity of dangling inducements in front of her? xxp

Swilling Ambergris, Esq. (silby), Monday, 2 March 2020 18:55 (six years ago)

I don't know what she "is" now: a female alternative to Sanders without a heart condition and believes in the system or a Not Biden? She's in an interzone.

the Mama Plan Interzone

brooklyn suicide cult (Dr Morbius), Monday, 2 March 2020 18:58 (six years ago)

Warren’s strategy, laid out in conversations with more than a half-dozen of her aides and close allies, relies largely on outlasting several of her less well-financed rivals and trying to collect their supporters when they drop out. One aide told POLITICO that the campaign thinks multiple candidates will withdraw in the next seven to 10 days, shaking up the race.

the plan begins

brooklyn suicide cult (Dr Morbius), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:01 (six years ago)

if she picked up ALL of Pete's and Amy's supporters she'd be a point or two ahead of Sanders

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:02 (six years ago)

I wonder if she thought she might get her endorsement.

bold caucasian eroticism (Simon H.), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:02 (six years ago)

Surely not.

until i saw DJP was the poster i interpreted "singing acquaintance" as "an acquaintance, but they sing at all times instead of talking." like the acquaintance equivalent of a singing telegram.

Doctor Casino, Monday, 2 March 2020 19:14 (six years ago)

Pete & Amy both endorsing Biden, btw

seems like a bad weekend for Bernie but I guess it'll be clearer tomorrow

frogbs, Monday, 2 March 2020 19:14 (six years ago)

Oh no the coveted Klobuchar endorsement, bye bye Bernie

Lake Meat (Old Lunch), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:20 (six years ago)

Maybe Pete and Amy dropping out is all part of Warren's......... plan

Harry Reid endorses Biden

Trying to keep in mind that when this is down to sanders vs Biden, the enthusiasm gap will be unmistakable

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!😂 (Karl Malone), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:27 (six years ago)

I don't think that's true actually

Οὖτις, Monday, 2 March 2020 19:29 (six years ago)

Doctor Casino, Monday, 2 March 2020 19:31 (six years ago)

At least when it’s Bernie vs Biden nobody can resort to accusations of sexism when ppl start arguing that Biden would lose to Trump (how’s that for an enthusiasm gap)

srsly this shows why the establishment Dems need to die fast

brooklyn suicide cult (Dr Morbius), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:35 (six years ago)

Wasn't Sanders projected to win in a majority of states by a decent margin tomorrow (and then possibly in several others by a slightly slimmer margin)? With Buttigieg and Klobuchar projected to not really do a whole lot? I mean, I guess the double drop-out could push it to Biden but it hardly seems like a sure thing.

Lake Meat (Old Lunch), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:36 (six years ago)

Y'know, I legitimately like Warren, and I can bring myself to vote with varying degrees of irritation for just about anybody on the D side. But I find it depressing and aggravating that there's no serious contender left who was born later than 1949.

ok

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:44 (six years ago)

There never was one.

I guess. Still seems pretty grim to me that what started as a nominally diverse field is down to three white guys who are OVER 75, and a 70-year-old white lady who's a longshot at best. I mean, that's kind of pathetic.

if sanders can't maintain a clear enthusiasm gap over biden's supporters, then something has gone terribly wrong

But guess what? Nobody gives a toot!😂 (Karl Malone), Monday, 2 March 2020 19:48 (six years ago)
