Bad news

℺ ☽ ⋠ ⏎ (✖), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:17 (six years ago)

you're assuming all his votes go to centrist biden? i'm not so sure.
the more i've seen of buttigieg the less i have liked him, this seems positive.

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:18 (six years ago)

Peace out Pete

Ainsley James Gryffyd Lowbeer Holdsworth (Raymond Cummings), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:18 (six years ago)

All seven remaining Buttigieg voters outside the early states

Swilling Ambergris, Esq. (silby), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:19 (six years ago)

Fewer candidates means more candidates reaching 15%

℺ ☽ ⋠ ⏎ (✖), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:19 (six years ago)

Imagine the 538 odds are gonna shoot up to 90% brokered convention

℺ ☽ ⋠ ⏎ (✖), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:21 (six years ago)

Times with ~the narrative~ it could mean a surge to Biden too

℺ ☽ ⋠ ⏎ (✖), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:23 (six years ago)

so do any of the Super Tuesday states allow for early vote "spoilage" if they voted for Buttigieg? I know Minnesota did, but I know Pennsylvania apparently doesn't.

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:23 (six years ago)

Times = timed

℺ ☽ ⋠ ⏎ (✖), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:23 (six years ago)

It'll definitely mean a surge for Biden, right? How many Buttigieg supporters are gonna break for Bernard?

rb (soda), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:27 (six years ago)

Okay, these numbers are different than the Morning Consult ones. If more accurae, Buttigieg could give a lift to Warren (in particular). https://t.co/8MUlEQwVdt

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:27 (six years ago)

God only knows if this means anything:

Buttigieg's Supporters Second Choice:

Sanders 21%
Biden 19%
Warren 19%
Bloomberg 17%

According to @MorningConsult National Poll https://t.co/MpPCWmz6bM

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:28 (six years ago)

so basically I predict that it's unpredictable and we'll find out Tuesday night

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:28 (six years ago)

who knows if those numbers account for post-SC Joementum

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:29 (six years ago)

quick sniff around on kneejerk pundit reactions online suggests to me no one really knows where his votes are going as i'm seeing wildly divergent responses

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:29 (six years ago)

No way to swing this as not being bad news for bernie, even if the votes are spread evenly it adds to everyone else's viability

℺ ☽ ⋠ ⏎ (✖), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:31 (six years ago)

you really need to buff out that record you're playing man

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:31 (six years ago)

Maybe this is all a cunning plot for a brokered convention where they all jump in to support Bernie, earning the love and adoration of all the Bros.

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:33 (six years ago)

it also depends on what proportion of the vote was already cast vs will be cast on Tuesday, etc

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:33 (six years ago)

I am pretty sure the polling isn't great for second choice options. I wouldn't read too much into either.

by all means though, anybody who wants a new peptic ulcer between now and Tuesday is welcome to it.

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:34 (six years ago)

for instance, that poll showing Klobuchar being the second choice, many may have answered that in a perfect world situation, i.e. "this is my second favorite candidate", but might not want to vote for her as it feels like throwing their votes away since she doesn't have a chance in Hell.

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:36 (six years ago)

i learned about this because anita baker retweeted the ny times tweet about it #news

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:38 (six years ago)

Nate's view:

Buttigieg dropping out is harmful to Sanders in 2 ways. Per the economist, relatively few Buttigieg voters were also considering Bernie. But, his voters will now help Biden, Warren and Bloomberg to hit 15% in more states and districts.https://t.co/4JApGxCCKx

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:41 (six years ago)

Congratulations to Klobuchar for outlasting someone she clearly envisioned engulfed in flames every time she closed her eyes. Now she can drop out herself.

but also fuck you (unperson), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:41 (six years ago)

Webcam Du Bois (Hadrian VIII), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:53 (six years ago)

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:54 (six years ago)

understandable

Webcam Du Bois (Hadrian VIII), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:56 (six years ago)

so after Bloomie shits the bed Tuesday, will he stay in as a foil to move voters to the center, or will his pride be too hurt and drop out

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Sunday, 1 March 2020 23:58 (six years ago)

tuesday is literally the first time hes been on the ballot. he's blown a p big wad to get to this pt. i cant imagine him dropping out after the first week, esp since he's polling well in FL.

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:00 (six years ago)

i mean maybe he's tired of getting dunked on and he just says fuck it im taking my ball home, but he's made of money and can afford to plop another couple hundred million throughout the month of march b4 ppl tell him to fuck off 4ever

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:01 (six years ago)

I would imagine he'll bail and bankroll Biden

I was reading somewhere that his team have their own software which has calculated hard and fast thresholds to meet and their won't be any "decision making" per se if they don't meet them

Webcam Du Bois (Hadrian VIII), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:02 (six years ago)

I read that quote from his staff too which kinda prompted the question

sorry for butt rockin (Neanderthal), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:03 (six years ago)

Steyer has the record for dollars spent per delegate currently, doesn't he (dethroing JEB! 2016)

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:03 (six years ago)

I have the mildest of affection for an openly gay man who made it this far.

And that's all.

TikTok to the (Alfred, Lord Sotosyn), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:05 (six years ago)

hm, does this mean the "center" candidates are going to coalesce around biden?

treeship., Monday, 2 March 2020 00:08 (six years ago)

not yet. after super tuesday, probably klob is out too.

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Monday, 2 March 2020 00:12 (six years ago)

deer: it’s just a job...
hunt3r: uhh, no worries, what’s up?
*deer hoofs at minivan script*

in a mellow, balmy way (Hunt3r), Monday, 2 March 2020 01:04 (six years ago)

Buttigieg would be a complementary VP choice for Biden in some ways: his support skews younger and more college-educated.
