Worst band/musician with a name that is pun based on other bands/musicians

I was sad to discover that Deflator Mouse was taken when I was a-huntin’ for a band name.

Shitty Shitty Band Band has me in tears.

I feel like “The Incredible Bing Strand” should be an album by conductor/cornetist Bing “The King Of Swing” Strand.

Hate Joy Orbison, Com Truise & the like, but the laziest shittiest one on the list is Wevie Stonder.

I always thought Modest Mouse was an obvious one but then someone told me that wasn't the intent of the name or something

There appear to be a couple of half-hearted attempts at usin “Ryan Beano” but I’m surprised nobody’s gone whole hog on it.

I love the idea of just putting quotes around a band name to change it, not Morrissey, but "Morrissey" i.e.

A friend of mine had a really great/annoying band for a while and they were booked to open for Wolf Eyes. I don't think Wolf Eyes were so into their set; the day after the show, they posted "thanks so much for coming to the show last night, apologies about the bum opener, but we had a great time with y'all" or however Wolf Eyes type these things.

My friend was like "...bum opener?" and we've been sitting on Bum Opener as a great future band name

You have to call your first track "Album Opener".

A friend's band made often brilliant but only semi-listenable noise music, they had one amazing track which everyone would ask about, so they renamed it "The Crowdpleaser" to throw some shade at it. I found this annoying, it was genuinely the best thing they did.

can confirm the existence of BeatlesS, have a couple of their tracks on a comp CD from the Wifflefist label. Good comp, even if i was more taken with Bicentennial Quarters.... it looks like Bicentennial Quarters' only other appearances on records are the comps Cognitive Mapping Volume II and a fairly expensive limited fundraising CD also including BeatlesS called... yes... Power of Tower!

I just remembered that there's a Japanese band called Sex Machineguns? Which I admit I find amusing. Don't know what they sound like though.
