It's just awful. Genuinely shaken by that news. Was just chatting this afternoon about the trivial bit of shite doled out to me when I was on a TV show and how it disproportionately affected me. Was also talking about Gail Porter's tremendously affecting documentary about struggling to stay afloat in the public eye when all of your private issues become public property. This seems like the culmination of this kind of thing.

Actress Lynn Cohen, who every obit's headline tells me was in Sex and the City. OK then. I knew her from appearances on Law & Order and a bunch of other stuff; she was one of those "Hey, it's her! I bet she did it" types.

Lovely and detailed obituary for Barbara Remington, who as an artist seems to have worked with and known a ton of folks and lived a heck of an interesting long life, but whose greatest fame was near-anonymous as the designer of the 1960s US paperback covers of The Lord of the Rings.
