gonna have to redevaluate his campaign strategy

literally could have just gone door to door offering $10,000 a vote and would have been a more affordable strategy

Warren no doubt done after this

According to MSNBC's exit poll, 6 out of 10 Democrats said a woman would have a harder time winning against Donald Trump.

Way too early for VP talk, I know, but try and stop me...If Sanders does win the nomination, I think Harris is the near-perfect pick. She doesn't help electorally, but in every other way, I think she'd help.

clemenza, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 01:51 (six years ago)

he is not going to pick harris

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 01:52 (six years ago)

I'd never say anything with certainty anymore, but probably not (and he has to win first).

clemenza, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 01:55 (six years ago)

bernard will win

mookieproof, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 01:59 (six years ago)

Steyer seems to be angling hard for the VP nod, but if any of the current candidates get it, I assume it would be Warren.

"I have a devoted following who will be enthusiastic about me in the general and not enthusiastic about anyone else. How can I kill that enthusiasm fast?"

like, I’m eating an elephant head (katherine), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:01 (six years ago)

i think the short list is warren, castro, maybe gillum

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:04 (six years ago)

I knew the post wouldn't go over well, so last thing I'll say: he'll need more than that devoted following to win a general election. And I don't think the devoted following would abandon him if he picked Harris.

clemenza, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:07 (six years ago)

no he doesnt, the devoted following is good as hell

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:08 (six years ago)

I'm not sure what clemenza means by devoted following, but, yeah, dull, m bison, of course he needs more people. I don't know what you're arguing.

nina turner comes up in vp talk but a lot of people seem to just outright hate her

β„Ί ☽ β‹  ⏎ (βœ–), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:14 (six years ago)

sanders picking harris is totally ridiculous

global tetrahedron, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:14 (six years ago)

lot of bernie people seem to think warren dropping out would be a big boost to him but i think her remaining supporters could just as likely latch onto buttigieg, or klob given her performance tonight

and lot of people in general seem to think she would endorse him but i don't think that's even close to a given... would imagine literally all the other candidates would be willing to offer a lot for her endorsement

im being glib, im def for expanding his base. i dont think harris is the best choice. im angling for castro bc (a) need young progressives on the national stage (b) he didnt attack sanders (or warren) during his campaign and would make a good surrogate on the campaign trail (c) has record (preK4SA) of supporting public programs (d) porque san anto

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:17 (six years ago)

What other ways are those?

A Warren/Castro ticket might've been my favorite, but, yeah, Sanders/Castro is rad.

(I actually don't think she'd be terrible tbh.xp)

Still don't know why Harris would give up a lifetime in the Senate from the most important state for a career-killer.

majority whip, majority nae nae (m bison), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:23 (six years ago)

Castro was a pretty shitty HUD secretary but it's hard to care about qualifications when you're talking VP aside from 'not old enough to collect Social Security.'

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:24 (six years ago)

Sanders already has strong Latino support. Castro was not good at HUD. I liked some of the things he campaigned on but I don’t think it will be him.

Bernie's veep pick would be

1) not a prez candidate from this year

2) someone not white, pref a woman

Warren? Two white lefties [sic] from New England? Are you crazy?

Dan S, Wednesday, 12 February 2020 02:33 (six years ago)

like pence was a shitty gov of indiana, biden was a credit card company stooge, you pick someone who affirms your campaign's central message. sanders has some less than great immigration stances in his past, might be good to have someone for whom immigration is a major issue next to you.
