anyway the good news for everyone is that the actual Sanders campaign isn't doing anything (AFAICT) to stoke the insanity and if anything is working to undercut it and emphasize the need to move on

My assumption is that there have always been errors in the Iowa caucus, given the complexities of the system. We're just more likely to know about them this time around because a) the raw vote totals are now being made public, which is leading people to analyze the data more closely, b) social media makes it easier to disseminate on-the-ground reports and photos of precinct worksheets, and c) there are a lot more viable candidates, and so more potential for error in each precinct. But I'd be surprised if caucuses in the past weren't faulty in similar ways that just never came to light.

Warren came in a solid third and showed her campaign is for now still viable! Biden did substantially worse than expected! Those are the basic answers! They are not in dispute!
