feel like there are ppl who are internet vets that are basically numb to trifling behavior
then there are ppl who have not experienced deep online beef and are legitimately upset and bewildered
then there are ppl in the first category who are pretending to be in the second because it suits them

not trolling in the trad sense, but very much in the “building a platform” sense

yeah trolling is for fun these ppl are marketing

or genuinely feel they’re taking a real stance which I sometimes detect

in which case a big social media vacation is a good idea

tbh riling up your own emotions by pushing social media interactions until you find the right formula to get engagement is exhilarating

i think the platform is only fun if you have a checkmark honestly. "public" people seem to use it more, and it holds no appeal for me. even though let's be honest i would be the best tweeter of all time.

i love that theres a million sub 100 follower accounts who tweet "say hello to your boss PUTIN" all day

they are humans but also in many ways they are bots which is ironic

they have ben programmed by the russians to be mad at the russians

I get the retweet as example, when someone with a lot of followers retweets weird abuse or comments going “what the heck”

but at the same fine, the abusive tweeter is like some guy who has five followers, fifty tweets total, and most of them are retweets of barstool sports or perpetual harassment of some chick with an onlyfans link

I have a tiny number of followers that see my insanely rare tweets but they’re all irl friends, ilx people, local people I interact with on twitter, and some that I’ve branched our with on those lines

if I was a brooklyn media person I’d inevitably get retweeted a couple times by a peer who had a following and pick up people, then feel the need to feed the machine and go insane
