Ann Milton is a former nurse! Well, she might have – but rather than being like something like Chummy out of ‘Call The Midwife’, I wouldn’t be surprised if Ann Milton’s career more closely resembled the ‘NHS work’ that Jess’s mum did. A lot of NHS managers are Angels who have received promotion, but they’ll always describe themselves as nurses because they know how loathed NHS managers are.
