Ugh, I hadn't even heard about his declining health. RIP, Mr. Creosote.

Directed it, cowrote it with the team and had to pull off this scene in particular wearing nothing but a fake beard. (The sheer physical comedy of him capering off towards the juniper bush is amazing.) Hero.

eric idle is an arsehole or just an annoying dick

Idle sued the recently late Neil Innes into bankruptcy, due to jealousy over Innes being funnier & more talented than himself.

Didn't realize those were valid grounds for a suit. Appears I need to have a talk with my lawyer.

Do you have any links about this? I mean I believe you, just would like to find out more and google and wikipedia aren't helpful.

Who's the 1? Palin?

groovypanda, Wednesday, 22 January 2020 22:38 (six years ago)

Yeah, Palin. Famously he's the one everyone in and out of the circle says is the truly nice guy -- which is why Gilliam cast him in the role he did for Brazil.

And speaking of Palin, sadly:

the 'evenhandedness' of the NewsHour has a lot to answer for

including David Brooks

mny impression is that they were less "bothsides" in the '70s, but when wingnuts threatened PBS's budget they self-castrated accordingly

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Thursday, 23 January 2020 19:31 (six years ago)

Honestly, I think News Hour handles this better than most TV news.

Mario Meatwagon (Moodles), Thursday, 23 January 2020 19:39 (six years ago)

They do, but it’s a low bar.

Love John Karlen on Dark Shadows, he always brought a little Method style intensity to even the most mundane scene.

I forget where I first heard about him — want to say he hosted a show at some point. Maybe Top Cops? He also produced a good Canadian TV cop drama, Night Heat, which is always catch late nights in syndication. As far as I can remember it didn’t mention the city where it took place (though it was filmed in Toronto) so it was a bit uncanny valley in that Canadian way.
