Fergie famously had her debts paid off by a generous donation from...Jeffrey Epstein.

It definitely sounds like the palace had been briefing the press about PA’s innocence, the Giuffre photo being faked, etc, but presumably think that’s unsustainable and it’s better to cut him loose to some extent.

Srinivasaraghavan VONCataraghavan (ShariVari), Monday, 18 November 2019 20:07 (six years ago)

He's going to be trouble for his re-election, isn't he? Oh wait

Prince Andrew: KPMG ends sponsorship of royal's scheme

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 18 November 2019 22:42 (six years ago)

Just sell them to the Americans, we'll be rid of them and the Yanks will be tickled pink.

lag∞n, Monday, 18 November 2019 22:54 (six years ago)

fwiw the royals are def popular here but like not that popular, like i am a compulsive news follower and i wasnt totally sure how prince andrew fit into the royal family, that he was charles younger brother was my guess but that was just based on deduction, i did just look it up on wikipedia tho

lag∞n, Monday, 18 November 2019 22:58 (six years ago)

The royals may not be that popular now, but they would be if they'd be sold to America, for sure.

A monarchy might've saved youse from Trump. Except then you'd have a monarchy. Catch 22.

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 18 November 2019 23:01 (six years ago)

yeah the royals go LA is def something worth looking into

lag∞n, Monday, 18 November 2019 23:02 (six years ago)

There's another one, Prince Edward - but he's even more anonymous than Andrew, I don't think he's been seen him in about 10 years, that's how it seems anyway.

'Skills' Wallace (Tom D.), Monday, 18 November 2019 23:02 (six years ago)

but to be clear not as part of the government at all just for celebrity purposes

All those headlines about Andrew's car crash interview must have made her wince.

'Skills' Wallace (Tom D.), Monday, 18 November 2019 23:16 (six years ago)

lol!

Le Bateau Ivre, Monday, 18 November 2019 23:18 (six years ago)

fwiw the royals are def popular here but like not that popular,

uh, network morning programmes in the US spent hours a day jizzing themselves fervently over a royal wedding last year, without ever considering the moderate centrist position that anyone voluntarily choosing to join an organisation that uses homeless ppl as slaves (and then has them physically removed from view before members of the org pass by) ought to have their head placed on a pike alongside their husband's

insecurity bear (sic), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:02 (six years ago)

theyre one group of nearly infinite celebrities the media here covers i mean there are ppl who are famous for posting to instagram who get as much burn

lag∞n, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:07 (six years ago)

how many people in the country actually have an opportunity to watch the morning shows, though? that’s like, retirees, people staying home with kids, and people stuck in waiting rooms

I’ve seen one once in the last two years and it was when I was waiting for the shuttle to work after dropping my car off for service

mh, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:35 (six years ago)

if someone is using a dvr to watch Today or w/e they are a sick deviant

mh, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:36 (six years ago)

Yeah it's called Today ffs if they wanted you to watch it at night they'd call it

Jordan Pickford LOLverdrive (Neanderthal), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:37 (six years ago)

morning tv is p fucked up

lag∞n, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:38 (six years ago)

love when matt christman of podcast notoriety had to watch “the view” for a month after losing a bet

the content is so shallow as to be ephemeral, so the royals... yeah, right up that alley

mh, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:42 (six years ago)

that was pretty funny i like when ppl write abt horrible things i wld never sit through myself

lag∞n, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:45 (six years ago)

Every time I've encountered The View it's been shocking how loud it is, like their audio engineer is the same guy who remixed Raw Power the first time and just pushes every slider into the red the entire time.

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 00:47 (six years ago)

the fact they get treated as celebrities, instead of as suppurating parasites on the lives of millions of people around the world, suggests that the US would 100% embrace them as the leads of interlocking reality TV shows

(although a revival of their last one wld be my preference)

insecurity bear (sic), Tuesday, 19 November 2019 01:07 (six years ago)

yeah i think the only thing that cld stop it is theyre prob really boring

lag∞n, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 01:13 (six years ago)

El Tomboto, Tuesday, 19 November 2019 01:53 (six years ago)

Two federal workers who were on duty the night Jeffrey Epstein killed himself in a Manhattan jail were taken into custody early Tuesday on federal charges related to their alleged failure to check on him, according to a person with knowledge of the matter.

The two federal Bureau of Prisons employees were expected to be charged later in the morning and appear in United States District Court in Manhattan.

The charges would be the first to arise from a criminal inquiry into the death of Mr. Epstein, who hanged himself at the Metropolitan Correctional Center in Manhattan while awaiting trial on sex-trafficking charges.

The workers came under scrutiny shortly after Mr. Epstein’s death, because they were responsible for monitoring the high-security unit where Mr. Epstein, the disgraced financier who had previously been convicted of sex crimes, was being held.

eventually the four guards guarding the two guards who were guarding epstein will "fail" and the two guards will die and then the four guards who let the two guards die will get charged and go to jail and then eight guards etc etc until we all find out the truth

Simon H., Tuesday, 19 November 2019 18:50 (six years ago)

we will be told that all the guards involved were "despondent"

Something to do with promoting UK business, i.e., getting to travel round the world, stay in nice hotels, get waited on hand and foot, sleep with 17 year old girls for free

He's basically the BAE Systems sales rep for the Gulf monarchies.
