For five terribly long seconds I saw some sort of invisible, haunted boy in a white undershirt there, instead of a plastic bag :(

Le Bateau Ivre, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 21:06 (six years ago)

I choose to believe those five seconds were a glimpse into the hauntological truth.

pomenitul, Tuesday, 12 November 2019 21:09 (six years ago)

Oh I agree! Spectre of Marx vibes w/ this picture.

Known pedophile and people "drowning" makes these a little too obvious to meet the platonic CI ideal

cryborg (rip van wanko), Tuesday, 12 November 2019 21:44 (six years ago)

Known pedophile? It used to be some kind of art installation in Stockholm, apparently.

Whenever I peruse through my repository, there's one image in particular that jumps out at me as particularly accursed, and it is this:

The list of criteria in the first mark s post should most definitely include 'simultaneously and/or alternately makes and ruins one's weekend'

- animal exploitation
- callous human voyeurism
- genuine concern for another living creature
- a primate in distress
- vomit
- buttcrack

Monkey is a sculpture called ''Ancient Echo'' by Tony Matelli.

I thought that was a piece of art, but the one I was actually trying to remember is one I Can't Find On The Internet.

It was this bug-eyed chimp/Sasquatch creature, who looked very much like half a human, getting bullied by frat boys. Thinking it may have almost been pornographic. Saw it years and years ago, maybe on something like Fark.com or even the Noize Board. But it also may have been a cursed dream.

pomenitul, Sunday, 12 January 2020 15:28 (six years ago)

I had a vague narrative that buttcrack/keeper was arriving for a preliminary hearing after much publicized destructive incident involving chimp, hence t-shirt w/ messgage on front meant to humanize chimp/flatter judge, all v disruptive to chimp's normal routine, meal schedule etc

pretty sure i know exactly what you mean. it was like an exaggerated reification of the artist's inner introvert/loser, there was a series of images with the character.

Paperbag raita (ledge), Sunday, 12 January 2020 16:29 (six years ago)

Yeah. Wanna say there was a locker room one. Bad stuff, like where he was being pushed toward a girl who clearly did not want his attention.

Thought there was a vomit one too.

Their ability to taste sweetness helps offset their natural saltiness.
