Technical question: are TV movies acceptable or are they gonna fall under the purview of next year's poll of holiday specials?

I keep trying to think of movies to add to the nomination list and it seems we've already covered most of the important ones, and there aren't even 100 nominations yet.

nobody should nominate anything that they don't endorse let alone haven't seen. all noms should be accompanied by at least 100 words making their case

Look, I know it isn't feature length but because it was a direct-to-video release it technically isn't a TV special, either, so I think it's only fair that this be included among the nominees for any poll of filmed holiday entertainment.

Basically, I'm predisposed to foist this upon people at any and every opportunity because your life isn't complete until you've seen it (although you're likely to wish that your life was complete after you have seen it).

That's the biggest reason I didn't nominate it--if I had, I wasn't going to vote for it anyway.
I think there's a stronger, albeit still iffy, argument for nominating Goodfellas. The post-heist bar scene is among the film's best, and there are three classic Christmas songs on the soundtrack (Ronettes, Darlene Love, Drifters). But I'll leave nomination up to someone else--I'd probably pass on voting for that too.

Both of these films epitomize why we love 1980s action cinema, and both efficiently use their specific settings to accomplish their respective narrative goals. As for films that have the potential to become new classics, you can check out our 2017 movie premiere guide and our 2018 movie premiere guide to see what's on the horizon over the course of the next year!

First, Hallmark Channel deprives the gays of Golden Girls for four months of the year, and then they force a poor Canadian studio to reshoot an entire movie to remove the gay couple in it. (Kidding, no idea if this was Hallmark-related, but it felt right.)
