This upsets me because I loved The Neon Demon!

gyac, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:22 (six years ago)

well it was... memorable for sure!

calzino, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:26 (six years ago)

would definitely rank it above OGF

calzino, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:29 (six years ago)

"these followers of the white christ ..bunch o' wee bastards!" i probably got that quote a bit wrong! It's look reminds me of Zardoz in places.

calzino, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:45 (six years ago)

watch la reina del sur

mark s, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:48 (six years ago)

I was curious about this based on your thread until I saw the number of episodes. I’m really terrible at watching tv these days, tend to watch various films over and over

gyac, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:50 (six years ago)

the number of episodes is certainly insane

mark s, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:52 (six years ago)

But you like it?

My sister watches the remake & is always linking me to the music (by Giorgio Moroder). Don’t think she knows either the original or who Moroder is.

gyac, Sunday, 13 October 2019 18:54 (six years ago)

haven't watched any of the eng lang remake, moroder notwithstanding: for me it needs to be uncut kate del castillo and telemundo's legendary approach to drama, melodrama, lighting and look (the new series is much more fancy and expensive but if anything so far wilder incident-wise)

i love it

mark s, Sunday, 13 October 2019 19:02 (six years ago)

i’ve got myself into a real pickle using podcasts and old itunes u lectures when i can’t get to sleep because my head is whirring about stuff and it helps distract me. but also i think it means i don’t sleep v well and sometimes i just lie awake for hours listening to terrible podcasts without taking any of it in. so i’m going cold turkey but i’m so used to it i’m finding going to sleep without it quite hard.

trying not to look at my phone and to read enjoyable but non stimulating or thought provoking books.

Fizzles, Sunday, 13 October 2019 19:29 (six years ago)

if I can't sleep I sometimes down a couple of co-dydramols and stick on professor richard baum's the fall and rise of china, never get as far as early manchuria but always wake up during the long march!

calzino, Sunday, 13 October 2019 19:45 (six years ago)

^ after my own heart. may well do same. though i’m out of handy medication, that sounds excellent.

i did consider eddie but, perhaps uncharacteristically, decided against going in on an endorsement of dog-fucking - i should have known someone else would have it covered and moreover i should have guessed it'd be you

I have horrible withdrawal symptoms and the laughter is not helping

On the other hand I'm not going to the shop so it's my own fault

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 October 2019 13:22 (six years ago)

Bloody hell watching the mountain bit in Donovan's Reef gave me the fear

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 October 2019 13:50 (six years ago)

have Mishka sitting on me while I am playing the songs as they come out. he likes Daniel and crazy in love, is lukewarm about Romeo and has his ears back at Pyramid Song and Take Me Out

gyac, Thursday, 17 October 2019 14:36 (six years ago)

Book Doula (sleeve), Thursday, 17 October 2019 14:37 (six years ago)

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 October 2019 14:40 (six years ago)

Something at Film 4 must be broken, they're showing 3 films that are actually good today

Xia Nu del Vague (Noodle Vague), Thursday, 17 October 2019 14:49 (six years ago)

gyac, Thursday, 17 October 2019 14:50 (six years ago)

Vertigo and Donovan's Reef have been on this morning, and The Handmaiden's on at 11. Normally it's all vampires and Statham bullshit
