Saw them at least back in August. Considering I was flying to PDX it was kind of lol

rob, Sunday, 22 December 2019 18:58 (six years ago)

I must have just not noticed them when I was there in August.

I'd suggest a FAP at some point but epidemiological conditions aren't exactly ideal at the moment. Something to keep in mind for the future, however.

Pas cool, Valérie.

- The police operating budget in 2021 will be $679 million, an increase of just under $15 million from last year.

- The budget for housing, including funding for the city's goal to create 12,000 affordable and social housing units by 2021, will be $140.5 million, down nearly $13 million from last year.

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 13 November 2020 19:09 (five years ago)

A group of suspects would hold dozens of people hostage, Friday afternoon, in Montreal, in a building that houses the premises of the Ubisoft company, on Saint-Laurent Boulevard.

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Friday, 13 November 2020 19:10 (five years ago)

wtf

Kompakt Total Landscaping (Will M.), Friday, 13 November 2020 19:12 (five years ago)

yikes. news is very unclear so far

rob, Friday, 13 November 2020 19:37 (five years ago)

One of my friends works like a block from there, in a building where Ubisoft also has offices. Thankfully the hostage situation seems to be limited to a single building but reports of a ‘group’ of suspects are hardly comforting.

pomenitul, Friday, 13 November 2020 19:50 (five years ago)

Suspects reportedly asking for $$$. To be confirmed.

pomenitul, Friday, 13 November 2020 19:53 (five years ago)

scary stuff

For all I know it could all be a hoax, nothing had been 100% confirmed so far.

pomenitul, Friday, 13 November 2020 20:04 (five years ago)

Well aside from the fact that it’s being treated as a potentially dangerous situation.

pomenitul, Friday, 13 November 2020 20:04 (five years ago)

fuck the postmillennial that's alt right bullshit

but the images of people on the roof don't particularly evoke hostages so far; i think it's premature to assume they are.

i have a friend inside who says there's lots of police and he's safe

i'm two blocks away, my son's daycare is less than a block away. :( i know s1ocki is nearby too

let's wait and see :(

sean gramophone, Friday, 13 November 2020 20:04 (five years ago)

s1ocki has tweeted that they're staying put inside their office which sounds like they're safe

Politically homely (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 November 2020 20:06 (five years ago)

Yeah it seems there isn’t much information atm from official sources, hope for a fast and peaceful resolution.

TVA says they got swatted. Also to be confirmed.

pomenitul, Friday, 13 November 2020 20:20 (five years ago)

might be useful for non-locals:

Something is going down at the Ubisoft building in Montreal / Mile End, but a few pointers for people looking for info or trying to share info:
- news outlets to check include TVA, Journal de Montréal, CBC, CTV, CJAD, Radio-Canada as they appear to all have people there.

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 10 January 2021 00:27 (five years ago)

I'm confused, what the hell just happened here?

pomenitul, Sunday, 10 January 2021 00:33 (five years ago)

Salmon wrote that in response to us being scared of that terrorism scam at Ubisoft back in Novembre.

Van Horn Street, Sunday, 10 January 2021 00:43 (five years ago)

What a weird thing to post a month after the fact.

Fields, have a sour beer and relax.

Fenners' Pen (jim in vancouver), Sunday, 10 January 2021 01:13 (five years ago)

Oh hey, I was gonna say: I actually tried a sour beer and I'm totally hooked. There are some fantastic ones available.

fields of salmon, Monday, 11 January 2021 19:55 (five years ago)

Nice. Which one did you have?

pomenitul, Monday, 11 January 2021 19:57 (five years ago)

I think I've tried most of the sours available. Brasserie Shelton alone has four or five different ones.

It all started with a can of « La Poudre jaune » (by Lagabière) on a very hot day last summer. Couldn't believe how much flavour it had for only 3.5% alcohol. I'm pretty much obsessed with trying them all now.

fields of salmon, Monday, 11 January 2021 20:02 (five years ago)

I haven't had any since I moved back. As soon as Dry January ends, I'll give La Poudre jaune a shot – I'm generally a fan of Lagabière.
