At least it's not this bad. Yet.

Too-fucking-hot during a pandemic is a lot like too-fucking-hot the rest of the time--plus scarves.

Powering through on homemade mango lassis (mango purée, yoghurt, ice, teaspoon of sugar, dash of lime juice).

santa clause four (suzy), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 12:22 (five years ago)

Ste, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 12:35 (five years ago)

Bet we have a perfect UK summer weather-wise in this year of years.

nashwan, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 12:39 (five years ago)

Weather's been better than usual pretty much all through the lockdown.

Future England Captain (Tom D.), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 12:44 (five years ago)

Cannot imagine the physical or mental health of the nation if this had taken hold in, say, October.

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 12:44 (five years ago)

Well I guess wait until October and see!

plax (ico), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:01 (five years ago)

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:01 (five years ago)

I think I must have heatstroke. I'm playing the new Bob Dylan album and actually liking it!

calzino, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:03 (five years ago)

Hah, I'm listening to it right now and it kinda makes me wish I were reading a printout of its lyrics instead.

pomenitul, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:05 (five years ago)

As for the UK 'heatwave', I don't miss experiencing at most a week of proper summery weather per year. What can I say, I'm a man of extremes.

pomenitul, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:07 (five years ago)

the lyrics on I Have Multitudes are brilliant and I don't even like most lyrics, nor songwriters that much, especially bob fucking dyaln tbh!

calzino, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:09 (five years ago)

positive - hot temps make golf balls go farther so managed to hit it to spots i've not been near in years

negative - water fountains on the course not in use due to corona so the steep climb up the 13th hole legit almost killed me earlier.

oscar bravo, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:12 (five years ago)

well itll be gr8 if I miss the entire summer in the hospital

brooklyn suicide cult (Dr Morbius), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:18 (five years ago)

is the hospital air conditioned? I was in hospital three years ago for a couple weeks & it was during an extended heatwave & hospitals here aren't generally air conditioned. that wasn't great.

Joey Corona (Euler), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:20 (five years ago)

Apparently the covid problem problem in Arizona is bad in part because it’s too hot to go outside.

𝔠𝔞𝔢𝔨 (caek), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:57 (five years ago)

I'd think that that'll be the case for everywhere in the usa save the pacific coast.

Joey Corona (Euler), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 15:59 (five years ago)

FPed calz for enjoying Bob Dylan.

Future England Captain (Tom D.), Wednesday, 24 June 2020 16:12 (five years ago)

calz contains multitudes.

pomenitul, Wednesday, 24 June 2020 16:15 (five years ago)

two weeks pass...

34 C today, 36 C tomorrow, with crazy humidity on top of that.

I don't have air conditioning at my house and usually I was ok because I spend the hottest part of the day in an air conditioned office but working from home this summer this is getting uncomfortable

silverfish, Friday, 10 July 2020 02:14 (five years ago)

I had honestly missed this after a year and a half of middling temperatures in the UK but it does take a toll on you in the long run and tomorrow is bound to be brutal no matter which way you slice it. I'm supposed to grab lunch with some friends in the park, no idea how/if we're going to cope.

pomenitul, Friday, 10 July 2020 02:24 (five years ago)

It was 32C yesterday and I hated it, ban summer. Much better today, 23C. Next week we may get another pic de chaleur at 32C, ugh.

Joey Corona (Euler), Friday, 10 July 2020 13:40 (five years ago)

As bad as last year's Parisian heat wave was (I experienced it firsthand), nothing beats the suffocating humidity of Montreal during the summer. Not only are we expecting 36°C this afternoon, we'll be hovering around 43°C with the humidex. The entire city feels like a hammam.

pomenitul, Friday, 10 July 2020 13:48 (five years ago)

oh I know, I lived in the american midwest for 20 years. never going back again

Joey Corona (Euler), Friday, 10 July 2020 13:50 (five years ago)

Very middling at the moment btw.

The Fields o' Fat Henry (Tom D.), Friday, 10 July 2020 14:26 (five years ago)

Just checked Met Office – you weren’t pulling my leg. The added cloudiness with no end in sight really clinches it. I’ll stick to my sunny 36 degrees, thank you very much.

pomenitul, Friday, 10 July 2020 14:32 (five years ago)

36? sheesh - you can have it

Li'l Brexit (Tracer Hand), Friday, 10 July 2020 16:04 (five years ago)

Summer was April-mid June. Wonderful but gone.

nashwan, Friday, 10 July 2020 16:06 (five years ago)

36? sheesh - you can have it

To each their Stockholm syndrome. ;)
