* Per Schiff's tweet today, whistleblower wants to talk to that panel directly
* Release of the document is required by law regardless
* If whistleblower appears to the panel and says "Yeah that's not what I submitted," that's...not a good look for the administration.

Hi - I've been completely out of the loop for a while under the assumption that if something happens, I'll know about it. Maybe not anymore, though. Maybe there's nobody left paying attention to politics but you wonks, and I hate to say it but I long ago tired of certain folks' hyper-granular focus on every little thing as a possible Harbinger.

I've sort of been waiting for the Smoking Gun tape. The moment when the people protecting him give up and turn on him. Maybe that doesn't happen, though? Maybe we're beyond the possibility of that.

I don't care when he goes anymore. How broken is broken? Broken enough. All this shit not being my problem is an opportunity for me to deal with the stuff that is still my problem.

But I know this isn't forever, I know something big is going to happen at some point, and I don't know how or how much to prepare for that.

I think we finally cracked this nut. All the dems have to do is impeach him every time he refuses to turn something over or allow someone to testify.

It was solemn and serious because of kayfabe, Watergate was a complete fucking farce and people pretended to take it seriously because the Future of Democracy was at stake (which didn't prevent them from totally screwing the Future of Democracy while making very grave speeches about its importance). Find me somebody who can tell me today there is a Future of Democracy with a straight face and I'll put them on a game show.

GOP douchenozzles probably will turn on Trump but only after he's out of office and once it's clear that his brand is inexorably tainted and he has absolutely nothing left to offer them. This triggers the part of me that hopes he lives through another couple decades of legal woes and money hemorrhaging and abandonment by everyone until he finally expires at 109 while trying to fish a half-eaten taco out of a dumpster.
