I got into a discussion on the Jordan Peterson subreddit, I told a guy he was being silly for telling someone he argued “like a little girl, like a scared little girl,” got this extremely good response:

Because of your extremely low post karma it appears you're too weak to present your own opinion or belief, likely for fear of censure.

Now that I think about it, you appear to have all the traits of the child of a "devouring mother" and you're on a mission to earn her respect once and for all ... but haven't even yet considered the possibility of your own independence.

So you're out visiting subs that don't conform to your own political views to share the malice your mother so often bestowed upon you.

You can deny and deflect all you want, but mocking me won't change the fact that you're just a shriveled soul.

tbh i go there occasionally bc it attracts a lot of fairly young people with half-formed worldviews and I sometimes think it’s useful if they encounter a leftist perspective that isn’t a caricature in their anti-SJW safe space. Sure is a weird coincidence how I run into a lot of Holocaust deniers there though.

nah, i feel bad for him too; i just feel worse for all of the people he's hurt and angry about all the profit he's reaped from hurting other people.

drug addiction isn't just deserts. dying of cancer isn't just deserts. it's a shitty random proxy for the justice we actually deserve but aren't getting.

I ended up talking to a dude in his early 20s who was Peterson-sympathetic and he brushed off the misogynistic, anti-trans, trad male empowerment shtick as more ephemeral or projection of viewers on to what Peterson's actually saying. I think I was able to make the point that when those views are central it's easier to dismiss, but when it's "not his actual platform" it's more insidious and when you treat those aspects as no big deal you're making a larger statement on what you think is important
