Oh of course

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Monday, 16 September 2019 17:04 (six years ago)

this is going to shock everyone, but it's a shitload of projection for trump to criticize obama for the netflix deal when the trump family's plan after losing the 2016 election was to start up a trump tv network

Sally Jessy (Karl Malone), Monday, 16 September 2019 17:05 (six years ago)

If I were Obama, I would start a tv network with 'Trump' somewhere in the name.

Welcome To My Lifemare (Old Lunch), Monday, 16 September 2019 17:10 (six years ago)

how quickly the Magasphere turns on guys like Bolton the instant they get fired

e.g. Steve Bannon was the super-genius who steered Trump to MAGA victory one minute, the next minute he got fired for the usual petty reasons. now has to go to Britain to get anyone to listen to him at all.

I bet the whole Trump family shares the same Netflix password.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler (D-N.Y.) pressed Monday that he personally believes President Trump should be impeached as senior Democrats try to defend their recent muddled messaging on the issue.

“Personally, I think the president ought to be impeached,” Nadler told WNYC’s Brian Lehrer. He acknowledged that impeachment is unlikely to lead to Trump’s removal, given widespread opposition from Republicans in the Senate. But he argued it is is necessary to establish a standard for future presidents.

“Impeachment is imperative not because he’s going to be removed from office. The Senate won’t do that. But because we have to vindicate the Constitution,” Nadler said.

WHERE'S THE TAX RETU-

oh

State prosecutors in Manhattan have subpoenaed President Trump’s accounting firm to demand eight years of his personal and corporate tax returns, according to several people with knowledge of the matter.

The subpoena opens a new front in a wide-ranging effort to obtain copies of the president’s tax returns, which Mr. Trump initially said he would make public during the 2016 campaign but has since refused to disclose.

The subpoena was issued by the Manhattan district attorney’s office late last month, soon after it opened a criminal investigation into the role that the president and his family business played in hush-money payments made in the run-up to the election.

Meanwhile, very cool and totally not self-defeating things happening with Democrats in North Carolina. I think we just might be doomed.

Unreal. Half of North Carolina Senate Dems largely voted for the GOP's new modestly-less-gerrymandered map, likely in part because some Dems got favorable seats to protect neighboring GOP incumbents. This happened in MO, OH, & PA after 2010, now it's happening again #NCpol #NCGA https://t.co/GPuGKXeLmN

i was wondering who this McNealy guy was

He is married to Susan McNealy; they live in Portola Valley, California, and have four sons: Maverick, Dakota, Colt, and Scout. Maverick, Dakota, and Colt currently[when?] attend Stanford University, while Scout is a high school student at the Harker School. He is known to be an enthusiastic ice hockey player and has been ranked as one of the best golfers in executive ranks.[4][15]

He is the commissioner of the Alternative Golf Association*** (known as "Flogton").[16]

McNealy is estimated to have a net worth of approximately $1 billion USD.[17]

***The Alternative Golf Association, also known as Flogton ("not golf" backwards), is a group of Silicon Valley executives that encourages golf participation by relaxing or ignoring traditional rules to reduce player frustration.[1][2][3] According to the National Golf Foundation, there were declines in golfers and rounds played compared to 2005. Flogton aspires to stimulate golf as snowboarding helped skiing. Patrick J. Gallagher (CEO), Scott McNealy (Commissioner) and Bob Lurie are involved with Flogton.

Flogton encourages nonconforming equipment such as lubricant applied to club faces, wedges textured like cheese graters and Polara Golf Ultimate Straight balls.[1]

cool, a hostage negotiator as the NSA. on one hand, taking a hostage is trump's signature negotiation move (i.e., threatening more tariffs on mexico unless they agreed to help prevent endangered migrant families from seeking safe haven in the united states). it's also the standard tactic of the republican party (government shutdowns, debt ceilings, etc).

of course, i assume o'brien's expertise is in resolving hostage negotiations, not creating them on a worldwide scale. i also imagine that things could tense between o'brien and trump because the latter truly believes himself to be the world's greatest negotiator even though he shits his pants in public on a daily basis
