Eighth grade me, huddled in the corner of the library, with a battered copy of Eye of the World is extremely stoked for this. The current me, with decades of awful adaptations behind me, less so. But I will still be watching the hell out of this.

How many seasons is this thing gonna be?

so few years ago when ppl where doing dream casting for show i had thought of grant gustin as a potential mat - fit initial physical description (stork like legs etc), showed could be snarky on glee and the earnest side of mat on flash

eager to see show but feeling, esp with covid delays, that i will be old before this finishes which perfectly matches experience of reading books

At least the books are done this time, so we won't have another GoT on our hands. I'd be curious to see how this ends up being paced, because even a season per book seems aggressive, at least for the first handful of books.

i remember reading that they were going to 'blend' books into seasons so not trying to match each book up. WOT def had lots of pages to be cut and/or compressed so can work esp if know your ending

the expanse, obv with fewer books, has been doing a great job of streamlining for tv so def possible. so, i hope?

There are, and look we're all fans here, entire books that could be covered by one five minute montage of people noticing the weather got better so i think we might be ok

Aw, I've always had a soft spot for Perrin. Always seemed like the most relatable one when I was 15 reading the first few books.

perrin was perfectly fine early on and the story of him initially getting together with faile was actually very sweet . . . and then they spent the next 10 books acting out jordan's shitty ideas about relationships, largely away from the main action

My podcast cohosts and I have been chatting about the TV series and we're kinda all in agreement that it's proooobably good that Jordan's not around to oversee or comment on it.
