Leslie Jones had an esprit that more than made up for her technical gaffes imo

fremmes with neppavenettes (rip van wanko), Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:03 (six years ago)

she is pretty charismatic. I just rewatched Ghostbusters this weekend and it was a lot funnier than I remembered it being.

Yerac, Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:05 (six years ago)

also I'm biased towards her bc she old (and a woman, and black...)

fremmes with neppavenettes (rip van wanko), Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:09 (six years ago)

Cool, 1/3rd of the new hires fucking sucks. Guess which o... it's the doughy white dude.

today SNL announced the hiring of its first cast member of East Asian descent, and also this guy pic.twitter.com/0FAGJZJUkK

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:49 (six years ago)

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:49 (six years ago)

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:49 (six years ago)

oh wait i think I'm mixing him up with someone else in the orbit of cum town

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:50 (six years ago)

Ok, that guy now takes Kyle Mooneys place as my most hated snl member.

Yerac, Thursday, 12 September 2019 21:55 (six years ago)

ahahahahahahhhahhhahaha

GREAT job, Lorne

flappy bird, Thursday, 12 September 2019 22:16 (six years ago)

I like Leslie Jones but being an ensemble cast member with specific things to do (apart from Being Leslie Jones) is not her strong suit and never was.

Ramen? No thanks, I prefer them cooked (Ye Mad Puffin), Friday, 13 September 2019 14:55 (six years ago)

Tell it to worthless Pete Davison.

Josh in Chicago, Friday, 13 September 2019 14:55 (six years ago)

him too

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Friday, 13 September 2019 15:04 (six years ago)

I think I am still kind of mad about that Bobby Hill boiled hotdog motherfucker Shane Gillis.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 15:11 (six years ago)

i like shane gillis but it's a weird choice getting a guy that spent the past few years making daddy trump is doing a great job irony shit on his podcast and everywhere else to write on snl. first cast member that dips citrus skoal.

XxxxxxxXxxxxxxxxXxxxx (dylannn), Friday, 13 September 2019 15:40 (six years ago)

is that a skit about moron podcasters?

Muswell Hillbilly Elegy (President Keyes), Friday, 13 September 2019 16:44 (six years ago)

I can't even figure out his schtick. It's like edgelord boomer humor?

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:04 (six years ago)

boomer?

flappy bird, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:17 (six years ago)

like, he's a youngish guy but his humor is tired dad jokes.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:24 (six years ago)

mixed in with rush week talent show.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:25 (six years ago)

wait this is a new SNL cast member? sounds extremely dire!!

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:33 (six years ago)

I have never heard this word "nooders" before.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:45 (six years ago)

please just tell me what that means don't make me look it up

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:46 (six years ago)

so Eddie Murphy will be guest hosting this year, and presumably reviving some characters that are almost 40 years old

suddenly "I'm Gumby, dammit" seems like a masterwork in the current context

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:48 (six years ago)

they are talking about noodles, and according to urban dictionary it's supposed to be saying noodles with an asian accent or a derogatory term for an asian person. I totally overlooked it because of the chink, MSG, dishonest cuisine and ducks in window commentary.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:49 (six years ago)

xp. when was the last time you watched SNL morbs?

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:50 (six years ago)

like, most of the show? when Betty White hosted.

i don't have TV now, but whenever i see a sketch online and watch it (maybe twice a year), it's always the worst thing ever. Adam Driver's gay p0rn bit at least gave me a stiffie.

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:53 (six years ago)

haha! I was about to say I bet you watched the adam driver one.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 17:53 (six years ago)

betty white most recently hosted in 2010, I'm assuming that's not the one you're referring to.

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:55 (six years ago)

i mean the show does bite but you have to watch to hate, it's the rules

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:55 (six years ago)

xp ty yerac, that is...not funny

weird woman in a bar (La Lechera), Friday, 13 September 2019 17:58 (six years ago)

yes that was the Betty White one. It had one funny sketch with her and Tina Fey, and the rest was "lol Grandma has sex"

I saw ONE Driver sketch, Yerac. Love has its limits.

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 September 2019 18:14 (six years ago)

that Kristin Stewart Totinos commercial was really great but idk how long ago that was

last SNL sketch that actually made me laugh, anyway

Its been years since I've seen KOTH, but I don't remember Bobby ever going through a total racist phase? Please correct me if I'm wrong.

☮ (peace, man), Friday, 13 September 2019 20:19 (six years ago)

I only remember the episode where he got gout. He just looks like Bobby Hill and has that 13 yr old 'edginess'.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 20:25 (six years ago)

That gout episode really resonated with me and one friend. We refer to it semi-annually.

Yerac, Friday, 13 September 2019 20:25 (six years ago)

Bobby has a heart of gold

flappy bird, Friday, 13 September 2019 20:27 (six years ago)

omg just watched that and it's fantastic

fremmes with neppavenettes (rip van wanko), Friday, 13 September 2019 21:32 (six years ago)

Please for the love of god - if you hate SNL and think they haven't had a funny sketch in years (but also haven't watched in years!), just stay out of this thread! I'm not going to pretend that they are always funny, but I almost always find a couple of good laughs in every episode. And go back to whatever you think are the "golden" years and try to watch a whole episode. I'm guessing the batting average has always been pretty similar (low, but not zero). For a live weekly show, that's good enough for me and my quickskip button.

DJI, Friday, 13 September 2019 21:54 (six years ago)

Man do i ever hate snl. They haven’t had a funny sketch in years!

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Friday, 13 September 2019 21:56 (six years ago)

At least I think that’s the case, i haven’t seen an episode since 89

Fuck the NRA (ulysses), Friday, 13 September 2019 21:57 (six years ago)

yes that was the Betty White one. It had one funny sketch with her and Tina Fey, and the rest was "lol Grandma has sex"

I saw ONE Driver sketch, Yerac. Love has its limits.

this is a lot more recent than i thought this was going to be. was thinking it would be kevin nealon era or something

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 21:57 (six years ago)

i mean it's almost a decade but still

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 21:57 (six years ago)

it was in a bar

liked the show best in '75-80, will post things from that era as necessary

u know when it actually mattered

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 September 2019 22:48 (six years ago)

putting in the long hard hours of watching this show totally earns you slagging rights itt

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Friday, 13 September 2019 22:50 (six years ago)

xp. nothing matters

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 22:52 (six years ago)

especially not comedy

Seany's too Dyche to mention (jim in vancouver), Friday, 13 September 2019 22:52 (six years ago)

I watch snl kind of like I check in with the Knicks or follow politics, out of conditioning and masochistically

The Ravishing of ROFL Stein (Hadrian VIII), Friday, 13 September 2019 22:53 (six years ago)

Pryor and Tomlin mattered in the '70s, jiv

a Mets fan who gave up on everything in the mid '80s (Dr Morbius), Friday, 13 September 2019 22:58 (six years ago)

(both hosted)
