so does that mean you think the left, generally speaking, isn't getting distracted by a bunch of bullshit lately and by lately I mean the last two or three years?

I remember reading these threads in 2004, 2005 and seeing lots of really long and thoughtful posts and actually learning things. from seemingly educated, knowledgable people. Isn't it sad that my way of asking for that is to chip in some of the shit I hate? I don't get it either but here I am

I'm not sure who you mean by the left or what you consider to be distractions. I do think that the way the US system works that it becomes very hard for ordinary citizens to accomplish much between elections, when the people occupying high office are not inclined to assist you in your goals.

Scanning the real state of politics in the USA the past two or three years, I think the mid-term elections went pretty well from the standpoint of taking the punch bowl away from the Republicans by re-taking the House.

The Senate is heavily weighted to reward small rural states with disproportionate power and it only exposes a third of its seats to the will of the people during any election, so that was and remains a much harder nut to crack. The president was rebuked but not removed by the mid terms.

There have been suits filed and injunctions issued over as many of Trump's policy moves as could have been filed. The president's erratic, childish, petulant and bullying behavior is correctly called such by the left. Ridicule is a decent political weapon, too.

I'm not sure what more the left was supposed to do during the past few years that you think would have allowed 'the poor and powerless to win', considering the 2016 election results?

del is correct we’re on year 3 of fixating on asinine shit that doesn’t matter for the sake of tripping on the negative heightened affect it induces, but I certainly don’t think you all need to stop. Anyway there’s other threads

The hilarious part being the link I posted wasn't about something TRUMP said or posted but it's clear del g was just waiting to pounce on the thread with this narrative for hours.

we’re on year 3 of fixating on asinine shit that doesn’t matter

tbf it's not us who are generating unprecedented amounts of asinine shit.

(a giant baby demanding that federal agencies issue statements that he fell over on PURPOSE, and the most the agency can do to resist is to type "no one here will agree to be credited with this" at the top of the press release, is the sort of thing that normally ends careers in ridicule within a day or so. regardless of the baby)

for the sake of tripping on the negative heightened affect it induces

I'll admit I'm surprised that in posts vmnic, Neanderthal has not been focusing joyously on DJT audibly cutting a long wet fart on camera yesterday

don't do that if you don't wanna do it, I wouldn't.

I'm mostly just trying to get Aimless to admit that he either is, or is close with friends with, Chargers hall of famer Dan Fouts, or childrens book author Dennis McGregor.

Dennis McGregor lives in Sisters, OR. I have a relative by marriage who lives in Sisters, OR. I have driven through Sisters, OR, many times. This is as close as I'm ever going to get to being him.

As for Dan Fouts, pffft, we live in wholly different universes, but I do remember his epic battles as a Duck against Sonny Sixkiller and the U of W Huskies.

Ok I kinda hope people keep talking about this now

The Failing New York Times stated, in an article written by Obama flunky Peter Baker (who lovingly wrote Obama book),”Even after the President forecast the storm to include Alabama.” THIS IS NOT TRUE. I said, VERY EARLY ON, that it MAY EVEN hit Alabama. A BIG DIFFERENCE.....

did anyone have "trump invites the taliban to the US for the anniversary of 9/11" on their bingo sheet

Unbeknownst to almost everyone, the major Taliban leaders and, separately, the President of Afghanistan, were going to secretly meet with me at Camp David on Sunday. They were coming to the United States tonight. Unfortunately, in order to build false leverage, they admitted to..

Nobody wants to say this but the United States should've been negotiating with the Taliban a long, long time ago. I mean in 2002 or 2003.

House Judiciary Committee Chairman Jerry Nadler has released a resolution outlining the parameters for an impeachment investigation into President Trump, heating up talk of impeachment on Congress’ first day back from its summer recess.

Nadler on Monday released a resolution, which his committee is expected to vote on Thursday, laying out the rules for any impeachment hearings. The rules outline basic structures, such as how a witness should be called or how the chairman can designate a full committee or subcommittee hearing.

On the other end of Pennsylvania Avenue, Democrats’ proceedings are being met with a collective shrug. One senior administration official says the proposed language falls short of what would be needed to compel additional cooperation from the White House on oversight requests.
