Revoking art 50 is a guarantee of that.

second ref has always been an intricate and a dicey three-step: 1a: establish the questions in a non-disastrous way 1b: win vote for it to take place2: actually win it
(best order of 1a and 1b entirely unclear btw)
much of the agitation for it -- i won't say all but a LOT -- has suggested the agitators had no plans in place beyond a wild hope (and sneers in all directions) to obtain the result they needed at ANY of these stages

I voted for the last option, my prediction:We crash out with no deal, the tories call a GE immediately afterwards and somehow throw the election so Labour get in. Labour end up taking all of the blame for the post Brexit crash / chaos while the Tories rake in the profits from shorting the pound. The right wing press hammer the point that this is all Labours fault, and Labour don't get in power again for 3 or 4 elections.I'd prefer: General strike > revoke a50 > GE where Corbyn gets in > public trials resulting in everyone linked with Cambridge Analytica / Leave.EU being locked up > mandatory town hall style reconcilliation meetings to reunite communities > Fully Automated Luxury Gay Space Communism
― help yourself to another slice of apple ... crumble (Willl), Sunday, 1 September 2019 13:21 (six years ago)
the way the second ref happens is for it to be a Lib Dem stipulation for working with Labour in a coalition or confidence and supply government after a GE. that doesn’t feel so far fetched to me. tho the question about who gets to put the questions on there is still problematic. There are some lunatics who want it to be between revoke and no deal ffs.
― Fizzles, Sunday, 1 September 2019 13:27 (six years ago)
e tories call a GE immediately afterwards and somehow throw the election so Labour get in. Labour end up taking all of the blame for the post Brexit crash
The tories don't need to throw an election or have Labour in power to do this. Also an immediate post no deal GE is the best path to victory for them. No Farage Party, Tory vote mobilized
― anvil, Sunday, 1 September 2019 13:38 (six years ago)

until march i believed in a 2nd referendum which will solve everything as i thought the british people are rational enough to choose wisely at this point of time. but i voted Britain needs to have its face rubbed in its own shit as i lost that belief in the mean time.

Brexit is a civil war re-enactment society event that got out of hand
― anvil, Saturday, 7 September 2019 06:34 (six years ago)
Don't think I have come across an English civil war reenactment before but the analogy seems all too direct.Divine right of ex-Etonians vs Parliament ?Such a shame he won't get beheaded for it though. Is Corbyn a puritanical rounded though?

Voted 'Britain needs to have its face rubbed in shit, poor people will be even more fucked though, that's bad', although I lament the conspicuous absence of references to EU citizens across the range of options.
Nihilism aside, I frankly have no idea.

I actually need the money I get for writing for a UK magazine every month, and I worry that if Brexit happens the economic damage may cause that magazine to go under. Which would also suck for all the people who work there.

It will be cancelled so that BJ can push a backstab narrative and win a majority retreat to a position of safety from where he can pifflepaffle a load of bollocks like he's been doing his whole life, eventually ascend the parliamentary throne once more when he sees an easy chance and fuck it up all over again.

What are a Labour govt going do about the huge hole in infrastructure investment, they've already suggested fixing the defunded NHS with AI.
They could use OceanGate's patented real-time acoustic monitoring system on all aging concrete and steel infrastructure. For example, this system would provide advance notice seconds before a huge fucking bridge might collapse over the M62 during peak rush hour.
