Means TV filmed the show

yep they were definitely there. I bet they’re sitting around wondering if they should upload the part where the audience spontaneously broke into chanting “Kill Jeff Bez0s” — which, cathartic as it was, could potentially draw heat were it to go viral I guess lol

Angela Nagle went on Tucker Carlson again, guess her transition to full CHUD is going well.

dece little write up about the SF/DS/Trillbillies southern tour:
https://theoutline.com/post/7755/street-fight-district-sentinel-trillbillies-tour-review

I guess the KJB chant wasn’t as spontaneous as I’d thought.

global tetrahedron, Thursday, 8 August 2019 22:34 (six years ago)

sorry for jacobin link but lmfao

so obviously fake, they had to have known and didn't actually care, or they really are that dense

global tetrahedron, Friday, 9 August 2019 23:07 (six years ago)

They’re very dumb

JoeStork, Friday, 9 August 2019 23:14 (six years ago)

They're exactly that dense but the pranker's interview with Jacobin is pretty eye rolling. Striking a blow against the credibility of right wing media! As if anyone writing checks for Quillette or the goons who read it give a fuck. Retractions never matter, what people remember is the initial inflammatory article.

Making new friends out on the campaign trail

I talked to @virgiltexas, @cushbomb and @willmenaker from @CHAPOTRAPHOUSE about the multiple challenges with China, healthcare, Iran and corporate power... and the need for accountable leadership in the White House - and why I’m the one who can do that as President. pic.twitter.com/8Tw62jtUjr

I really do not understand their fascination with the fifth-stringer candidates

Simon H., Monday, 12 August 2019 20:29 (six years ago)

they're a lot more accessible, in my experience

and it's more fun to goof on the broad strokes than to cynically yell about the minutiae of the top-runners and their platforms, as much as I enjoy Matt doing that

untuned mass damper (mh), Monday, 12 August 2019 20:53 (six years ago)

I was going to be in the crowd checking out Sanders at the state fair yesterday, but the weather was rainy early and the crowds too large. Those damn media elites and their special area? Keeping the candidates away from the common man.

untuned mass damper (mh), Monday, 12 August 2019 20:56 (six years ago)

Matt dressing (vaguely) like an adult is bizarre.

Greta Van Show Feets BB (milo z), Monday, 12 August 2019 23:01 (six years ago)

lmao of course Matt is a fedora guy

Blues Guitar Solo Heatmap (Free Download) (upper mississippi sh@kedown), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:26 (six years ago)

come on, that's a straw hat

Hannah GAPDY (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:36 (six years ago)

let's be honest they all dress really bad

longtime caller, first time listener (man alive), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:41 (six years ago)

Matt's definitely going for a specific look in a whimsical way (Panama Jack meets Tommy Bahama?), Virgil increasingly looks like an overgrown teen who thinks he looks cool with a suit jacket (probably did a vintage suit thing in high school/college) and I have no idea why Will is wearing track pants and a shirt wide open/sleeves rolled up

untuned mass damper (mh), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:45 (six years ago)

xpost why would you want it any other way?

Hannah GAPDY (Whiney G. Weingarten), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:45 (six years ago)

Virgil's suits have always been shit

flappy bird, Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:46 (six years ago)

NEVER wear a suit jacket with skinny jeans and sneakers....

flappy bird, Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:46 (six years ago)

eh, I'm sure it's a look someone can pull off

just not anyone within miles of the thread

untuned mass damper (mh), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:54 (six years ago)

almost convinced Virgil's twitter picture isn't just a one-off where he's got a specific look going and it seems to work, but it might be possibly a picture of another person entirely

untuned mass damper (mh), Tuesday, 13 August 2019 19:55 (six years ago)

almost forgot

after listening to half of the episode that was just released, I'm reasonably sure they're staying at this place, which I was sure had been bought and gutted years ago after it made several blogs when it was up for sale:

Will’s look is hilarious, the hair, the pose, everything.

JoeStork, Tuesday, 13 August 2019 21:19 (six years ago)

uhh I think Matt just sharted or something and had to leave the stage

untuned mass damper (mh), Wednesday, 14 August 2019 00:54 (six years ago)

I missed what started it but Matt was moving around his seat awkwardly, Will says “I thought we weren’t doing this (?)” and Matt left, to return about five minutes later

decent live show, might be punchier edited

untuned mass damper (mh), Wednesday, 14 August 2019 02:13 (six years ago)

I might be more enthusiastic tomorrow. It was really warm in there

untuned mass damper (mh), Wednesday, 14 August 2019 02:15 (six years ago)

there was an anecdote about parking near the state fair I’ll post tomorrow that made me amused and irritated

Like how this sounds like will had had a conversation with Matt about not shitting his pants beforehand

bookmarkflaglink (jim in vancouver), Wednesday, 14 August 2019 03:21 (six years ago)

I mean, maybe his underwear was riding up, he drank too many liquids and had to pee, idk

but in the moment my instinct told me that man sharted

also he was wearing the all-white outfit from the tweet this past weekend

untuned mass damper (mh), Wednesday, 14 August 2019 03:25 (six years ago)

oh man, the worst possible outfit to shart in

(Appears only as a corpse) (bizarro gazzara), Wednesday, 14 August 2019 04:55 (six years ago)

it probably wasn't the case, but that was immediately what went through my mind as well

so, parking at the state fair is at a relative premium and there are a myriad of ways to address that. there's a shuttle bus from downtown parking, some charity-owned lots nearby, and the classic "park in someone's yard for cash"

basically people who live really close to the fairgrounds will stand around with a sign, or someone will pay them for use of their yard to do so, and they'll line up cars on the grass. it's usually early in the day, and you just kind of roll the dice on whether it'll be easy to extract your car later. apparently the chapo election team decided to do this, and some asshole arrived late and blocked all the other cars in

it wasn't clear whether someone else in the crowd called the cops or they did (could use some clarification here, I was like YOU CALLED THE COPS?!) but the idea was apparently you call the cops, the cops say it's ok for a tow truck to pull the offending vehicle out of the way. cop arrives, basically says "I don't know man, it's private property, you've gotta figure it out" and finally a bunch of people banded together to just shove the car out of the driveway and they made their way out.

hopefully that segment makes a podcast because it was entertaining. also, I don't think I would park like that in a rental so...

Their Epstein stuff is kind of unlistenable. I also tried to give Brace Belden's True Anon podcast a chance and it was equally unlistenable.

Simon H., Saturday, 17 August 2019 22:32 (six years ago)

the last show on the grey wolf feed where they talked about all the trumpisms that have permanently infected daily speech was very funny

you hate to see it

gbx, Saturday, 24 August 2019 23:35 (six years ago)

have been daydreaming of eating at a theme restaurant called "graydon carter's bad food restaurant" with "you hate to see it" as the slogan in a nice script under the name

forensic plumber (harbl), Saturday, 24 August 2019 23:47 (six years ago)

flappy bird, Sunday, 25 August 2019 01:45 (six years ago)

lol i always thought he did but maybe he didn't! now i gotta change my custom meme

forensic plumber (harbl), Sunday, 25 August 2019 02:25 (six years ago)

i had no idea you hate/love to see it was trump but if so that’s his greatest contribution to culture

flopson, Sunday, 25 August 2019 07:00 (six years ago)

I thought it was just mocking corny sportscasters - Trump's thing is more "we love ... don't we folks" right?

Actually I think the originator may be Pierre Louÿs - https://www.wakefieldpress.com/louys_pybrac.html

First published posthumously in 1927, Pybrac was, with The Young Girl’s Handbook of Good Manners, one of the first of Louÿs’ secret erotic manuscripts to see clandestine publication. Composed of 313 rhymed alexandrine quatrains, the majority of them starting with the phrase “I do not like to see…,” Pybrac is in form a mockery of sixteenth-century chancellor poet Guy Du Faur, Seigneur de Pibrac, whose moralizing quatrains were common literary fare for young French readers until the nineteenth century. Louÿs spent his life coming up with his own evergrowing collection of rhymed moral precepts (suitable only for adult readers): a dizzying litany describing everything he “disliked” witnessing, from lesbianism, sodomy, incest, and prostitution to perversions extreme enough to give even a modern reader pause.

JoeStork, Sunday, 25 August 2019 07:41 (six years ago)

however did I never listen to the digcast?

some of it’s cringeworthy in how it’s aged because carl was too right
