At the end of the movie, he goes back with the PCHers. My understanding is that all the stuff about Veronica and Keith being there for him but him taking a plea deal behind her back was in one of the books that came out between the movie and the new season. So short answer: No, they had a falling out in the time since.

also general observation

I fucking love VM’s character. She bridges the gap btw Buffy & Jessica Jones for me
Buffy is the self doubting prom queen & Jessica the straightup alcoholic fuckup. VM isn’t the echo of former perfection nor is she the horsewoman of the apocalypse. She’s smart but dumb at life in a relatable way. There’s something so endearing about how human she is, the mistakes she makes, visibly emotionally scarred & afraid to move on & shoving it all down to cope ... not doing great but not completely sucking wind ... idk. Been thinking about her a lot and I just really love the normcoreness of her, even though she is obv exceptional in unique ways too.

Yes! I really appreciated her casual drug use / ability to indulge without it being tied to Being Damaged or whatever. I thought they did a great job of making her complicated and a little difficult but by no means totally dysfunctional.

Similarly, while Logan has never been my favorite character nor Dohring my favorite actor, there was something immensely refreshing about depicting someone who earnestly left the worst of themselves behind thanks to hard work and time. Too much lazy, cynical and unthinking "people never change" antihero shit out there

Yeah, with Veg here on all her posts, except on the new theme music (which sounds to me like she got all the money up front).

One thing I'd add is that this season does a great job on handling the who of the whodunnit (considering that I had the culprit in season 2 pegged from the first episode).

i'm on episode 6. i already know the big spoiler (heartbroken lol) but i've been really enjoying this despite... many awkward moments (did this season need two drinking/partying montages?)

regardless it's more consistent than both seasons 2 and 3 and the overarching mystery is weirdly... fun? jk simmons helps in this department

i thought this was fine. we had started rewatching the original run but didn't get that far before new season started, so i was pretty lost about who most of the fan-service cameos were. meanwhile, the couple of characters i do remember (mac, piz) didn't show up.

i had a visceral hatred reaction to the new theme song when i first came up. so tuneless. but it grew on me a little.

I absolutely died at "is Piz back there?"
